In the morning, it's very nice to walk along the river. You can see many locals doing morning exercises, some people flying kites, and enjoy the morning fresh air. I went there just before summer so the weather was good, not too sure how will it be in winter though.
I have a short clip that I took during my walk along the hankou jiangtan. Please visit my blog page

Qiyi Gate (Qiyimen), the Uprising Gate, was built 300 years ago was one of nine major gates that fortified the city. At that time it was called Neutral Gate. Its fame comes not from its age but from its association with the 1911 Uprising (hence the name change). Qiyi Gate is where Xiong Bingkun and the Eighth Batalliion launched the first attack in the Wuchang Uprising to overtake the city and later lead to the fall of China's last Dynasty, the Qing.

Jiefang Park is located in the northern part of Hankou near the Wuhan Yangzi River Second Bridge. When I visited there was some sort of flower show going on for something to do with the Olympics as it was April 2008. The park also features many small pagodas and one large one which make it a very nice and interesting city park to wander around in.

This is one of the finest colonial buildings in Wuhan. It used to be the Customs House and was built in 1862. The Renaissance-style building has a striking grey-stone portico and Corinthian capitals. It's located at the southern end of the pedestrianised shopping street of Jianghan Lu.

From 1861, the district of Hankou was the site of the former foreign concession. This area is littered with some marvellous examples of European-style colonial architecture which compete with those in Shanghai and Tianjin. The best are located between the river and Zhongshan Dadao, particularly along Yanjiang Dadao and Jianghan Lu. Highlights include the Bank of China and the Customs House.

It's a temple. So sad that it was closed when I went there, it seems they only open during morning hours but I went there at afternoon. I had my lunch at their restaurant which is nice. You can see my photos at my food tip.

It's a beautiful lake locates in the South of WuChang. There are also many sightsees around the lake including Hubei Provincial Museum. It will be an idea place to go during Summer time since it's windy around the lake but it was cold when I went there, so I rushed to the Museum.
