Shi Tang Lin

by Mayzhou100

Shi Tang Lin, 20 km long, 10 km wide, is made of cemented flowing lava after the volcanic eruption. It is Asia's largest extinct volcano basalt landscape. You can only see some Yan Pine (short pine trees) and moss where ever magma flowed. The pine tree lives by the side of the lava trail is full of vitality. Also you can see the un-erupted volcanic mound in my pictures.

Arxan National Forest Park, Inner Mongolia

by Mayzhou100

Arxan National Forest Park is a volcanic forest park with lava landscape, famous for its high crater, lava lake, functional mine hot spring, as well as diverse and varied landscape of lava. The best travel time is June - Aug. I was there in May. Obviously, it was too early to see the spring flowers and green trees.

by liemel225

i chose to do the cable that sends you from the entrance to the middle of the desert. others chose to walk it off..pros:you will be there after a few minutes. get to have the colorful sacks to protect your shoes from the sand.cons:you have to paymiss out another opportunity to test your health! hahha!

off-road driving

by liemel225

im not really sure if its off-road driving or all-terrain driving. but you will get to drive a 4x4 SUVs across the desert sands. and somebody will be with you to help you through since its not a normal road. also you can be just a passenger and experience the fun of being tossed around like a salad inside the vehicle.

the bubble ball

by liemel225

this is what you see on national geographic. i was not able to try it since it was close when we arrived. so sad....this bubble ball experience can be yours with a certain amount. and they do have conditons attached like certain time (they don't do it at dusk), and the wind conditions matters too.

sand slides

by liemel225

since i was afraid of heights i didn't dare get onto a piece of plywood and slide down a mountain of sand. it had no safety whatsoever and that in itself convince me not to go. they charge a certain amount and there was a line for waiting people wanting to try it out. it was not as scary as i thought it would be, that's what my friend told me, but if ever you dont know how to stop the sliding wood, you would get turned upside down. hmmm... still makes me think twice about my safety

riding quite-small horses

by liemel225

the same thing with the camels, these horses rarely bathe.. and since i can't stand the smell sticking to me, i didn't dare ride it. there is a fix course and there are few guides who are able to help you if the horses are moving to fast or not moving at all.

camel ride around the desert

by liemel225

well as all camels are smelly. it was a sight to behold when you see the sun setting over the mountains of sand. warning: the water which is suppose to be for bathing was icy cold (during october-fall) and since there was no laundry... you end up with smelly clothes as well.

Mt Aobao

by JuraidahJ

Mt Aobao is located in the open land and its is a small hill laid stones and is regard as the Mountain God where herdsman worship and pray. They believe that you should make seven rounds and good luck for the year will be with you. They also put some red strings for what they wish for. Something similar to the chinese cultures.

Horse Back Riding

by JuraidahJ

When in Inner Mogolia or Mongolia, you have to do the horse back riding. Well, in my case I had it in freezing winter. It was like needles poking thru my face even when he hourse was not galloping at a fast pace.It was an experience to see the wide open land, thousands and thousands of acres.. it will be stunning when it is summer. Winter is nothing less either. Magnificent.

Ready for the ride?
