Local convenience store
Kedi Stores
This is a chain of small convenience stores and in some areas of Chang Zhou there is one on every block. They have candy, beer, ice cream, cigarettes, soft drinks etc. The prices are reasonable, but like all convenience stores they are a little higher prices that bigger grocery stores.
What to buy: Things that you would expect at a convenience store.
What to pay: Prices are all over the place depending on what you want to buy.

Buying movies
Movies are very inexpensive in all of china. Some are just cheap rip-offs, both for the people who made the movie and the people who buy them. Some places sell these kinds of movies for as low as .25/.30 cents in Shanghai.
But there are places that sell quality movies for 10 Yuan each (about $1.45) or 11 for 100 Yuan (about $14.00). One of these places is Diezhongdie Video. They have movies that are still in movie theaters in the states or have not been released for sell to the public.
I apologize for not knowing the exact location, but one is located about a half mile south of the Phoenix Hotel. Also, this is a chain, (like blockbuster in the USA, but with smaller stores) and there are several in Chang Zhou. You won’t go long without seeing one or ask someone at the hotel or a taxi driver. Everyone will probably know where one is located.
They also sell music CD's for about 2.00 each.
What to buy: Movies and music!
What to pay: $1.45 for movies, about $2.00 for music CD's
