In the season of tasting Yang Chen Hu crabs, you may find restaurants at Ba Cheng full of guests.
Two ways going there: self-drive or by bus.
There is tour bus route daily departs from Shanghai Stadium, makes a stop in Kun Shan city then head toward Ba Cheng, destination of the trip.
Usually 3 hours available at Yang Chen Hu for dining or purchasing crabs.
Return Shanghai in the early evening.

The best time to visit Kunshan is during the fall months. This is when the famous "da jia" crab is harvested by the local farmers from Yang Cheng lake. This tiny crab is wonderfully unique and SWEET. I've never tasted a sweeter crab! But be warned, for those of you who aren't good (or don't enjoy) a good fight with getting the morsels of meat out of this tiny crab, I don't recommend it--but more power to everyone who does!

You will notice the crab houses along the lake during the non fall months are always closed. They simply don't serve crab unless it's live and fresh--and that's during the fall! Supposedly, the farmers make all the money they need for the year from selling these crabs for only 3-4 months out of the year.
