Fondest memory: The cultural attractions at the Lion Hill offer a nice history lesson of the area. What is now present-day Xuzhou used to be Pengcheng, the capital of the State of Chu between 202 BC and AD 8 during the Western Han Dynasty. The ancient tomb of the Chu King at the Lion Hill is located below ground and the entire excavation site is enclosed by a building. You can also see artifacts and tools that were buried with him. There is also a video presentation. Definitely come visit here if you're interested.

Fondest memory: Although much smaller than the ones from the Qin Dynasty in Xi'an, the Terra Cotta Warriors from the Han Dynasty which were unearthed on Xuzhou's east side at the Lion Hill in the 1980's offer an interesting look at the culture and history of that period. These figures were in relatively good condition when they were discovered. The museum was pretty good as it also contains a gallery that provides extensive descriptions and photos of the unearthing process and the significance of the discovery. The museum is a must-see if you're coming to Xuzhou.

Fondest memory: On the top of Yunlong Mountain you can visit several nice Buddhist temples for an extra fee. These temples are very interesting with unique Buddhist decorations. There are also monks who actually live there. There is a place there where you can have your fortune told.

Fondest memory: This is a picture I took of a sign near the entrance to Yunlong Mountain that actually has an introduction to Yunlong Mountain in English. This will give you a nice background for this popular attraction in Xuzhou.

Fondest memory: The museum features a lot of displays of Chinese soldiers, tanks, trucks at war. Very neat paintings, writings, and photographs are also displayed. Nice place to learn a little history about the area as well as Chinese history in general. Located in the Monument to Huaihai Campaign Martyrs park.
