Zhouzhuang is in Jiangsu Province, it's not far from Shanghai or Suzhou.
To start from Shanghai, there is bus service with travel guide to Zhouzhuang inside Shanghai Stadium. The price is 145 yuan including round trip bus and ticket to Zhouzhuang, it's less than $20, but the travel guide speaks Chinese only.

There are air-conditioned public buses from Shanghai (near to railway station) leaving at about 7:00, 9:00, 12:00, 14:00 and returning from Zhouzhuang at 9:00, 12:50, 14:30, 16:30 daily. The fare for a single way is RMB$22 and it takes about 2-3 hours, unless during peak hours where traffic jam happens in Shanghai.

If u travel by bus to Zhouzhuang, it will drop u at the bus station which is 2 km from the old town. U can take an easy 20 minutes walk or take a rickshaw into the town.
The entrance tickets for Zhouzhuang are in a package of RMB60. This includes fees to 11 sights. Zhouzhuang is not big and is best explored on foot. U can buy a map for RMB3.
Most visitors come in the morning and leave in the afternoon. So, the place can be really crowded in the day. Try to avoid weekends. U can also stay overnight to see the town's famous dawn and sunset. But the sights will be closed at 5pm.

There are tourist shuttles available at the Shanghai Stadium leaving at 07:00, 09:00, 12:00, 14:00 and returning from Zhouzhuang at 09:00, 12:50, 14:30, 16:30. It includes the return fare and entry ticket at RMB100. The journey takes about 2 hours.

You can pre-arrange the taxis in Shanghai to Zhouzhuang and it costs about RMB$350 one way. The journey takes about 1.5 hours if you do not count the traffic jams in Shanghai.
