Longnan Favorites

Favorite thing: There was a guy in Longnan town center, I saw him when we were eating inside a restaurant (beside the Muslims restaurant in photo). The food was nice, we enjoy very much, then came a guy from nowhere, he walks in, brown jacket, short, 40 something, looks like a construction worker, he walks in slowly, his eyes looking at us.

He sits down at the back table and asked for a bowl of noodles. Suddenly he stands up and holding a handphone walking pass our table slowly and deliberately show his handphone and show his finger operating the handphone and slowly he lifts up the handphone to his ear and starts talking like a rich businessman. He stood in front of the restaurant with his handphone talking serious business and after that he walks back to the table and eat noodles.

After eating noodles, he stands up and slowly walking towards the entrance. Without looking at the lady boss, he lifts up his right hand (the left hand stay firmly inside the pocket), the right hand very straight (as in the Hong Kong's gangster movie), and he yelled "how much?"

He walks slowly again. He walks slowly on the road, and he spits with high voice.

Favorite thing: Longnanese Taxi is actually motorcycles, yes there are cars too but bike is more attractive than car I guessed, so...

I saw so many hundreds of such taxi riders in small towns. They wait at roadside the whole and their eyes looking at every pedestrains, hoping that someone wave hand to ask for their service, RMB2, 5,10,15 per ride depends on distance.

Favorite thing: Traditional blue dress is what I saw in the villages here. They are mostly 90+% old women who wear this type of dress in blue, they probably are hill tribes but most of their children already live in modern houses and wore modern clothes, so they are minority and so I took photos of them for VT.

Favorite thing: Young man of Longnan, is a tip about a young man standing at roadside, obviously he sells something that are being displayed there. But I did not ask him....

Favorite thing: Shop's Opening ceremony is they hired a group of musicians and get them to march on the street, extreme loud, perform, looks happy, etc

Favorite thing: Selling Ping-tang-hu-lu, is a kind of ancient candy, made of plums or strawberries and coated honey, very sweet, yummy.
