The Lalunga - la pass was the most amazing and had the most spectacular scenery on my entire trip. It is located between Tingri and Zhangmu and is the last pass before the plateau ends on the way to Nepal.
It was the first time that I had truely been surrounded by mountains. At 5050m you certainly feel alive and on top of the world and although you may find it hard to breath at that altitude, you are inspired to jump and run just at the excitement of it all, well at least I was!!
Located on the Friendship Hwy it is not out of your way as you come from either Tibet or the Nepal border. Magnificent!!
