I bought the picture postcard at Pu Yi's puppet palace. These are old pictures of changchun over 60 years before when here was under Japanese rule. It was indeed a beautiful city as my father told to me. The picture of yoshino cho, near here my grand father's office was here.

He is my father. In 1935 he was born in here. He lived here for over 10 years until that WW2 has finished. His family were repatriated from China after the war at the risk of their life. In the evacuated way actually he faced to very dangerous situation with Soviet union army. I thought one day we go to his hometown together. He was seriously hurt several years ago. Even now, he is undergoing rehabilitation. So, once he gave up his idea of going to his hometown. I proposed him to come with us. And then 60 years passed, He came back to here again.
The hometown was still remain. Around got dirty, but still remained those day’s atmosphere. The buildings got very old but still almost as same. His elementary school was rebuild and changed to a beautiful modern school. We took a picture together in front of former office. Around this site was redeveloped. Many building is under construction. He seems to watch the site with nostalgic, surprise, and somehow with complicated feelings. This experience let him remember many things. Actually he sometimes began to speak Chinese fluently. In those days children learn Chinese too.
In those days children often enjoyed ice skating. Of course he did. In winter, very cold, so when they go to “sento”(a public bath), after get out there, and he swung the towel, the towel changed to ice towel stick. They enjoyed ice-skating in the school rink.

This park is located about 10km from downtown.

Nature there is not specially beautifu, but its quality is to be a nice place for a relaxing pic-nic or for a bike ride...

On the winter, you can even practice ski there...

On the summer, golf, hiking, biking or outdoor activities...

Near Xinlicheng dam you can also find rice fields, just as in images seen in southern China and Vietnam...

I have found it interesting....
