Victory Square Shopping Center is located on Zhongshan Lu, just west of Friendship Square... It is a huge underground shopping center, about 4 levels deep, with lots of stores, very much in the style of a Western shopping mall... They also have some good Chinese fast food restaurants...

This shopping square links the Train Station to the Zhongshan street and the other side of the shopping zone in downtown Dalian.
Some shopping malls and restaurants are in this square. As you cross Zhongshan street by the underground passages you find yourself in an underground shopping mall with small shops with almost everything.
Upstairs you find yourself again in the middle of huge and fancier shopping malls...

Near the Train Station, this street has lots of shops with signs in Russian, including some restaurants as well.
Quite interesting, since Dalian was a Russian protectorate until the mid 1900's.

Late afternoon a gathering of people indicates the food market is opening...
Interesting place to eat every sort of Chinese food as well as others... we even found a vendor offering "Brazilian barbecue"!

Dalian Shide is the most successful soccer team in China. Of course this team also has its fan article. The store is not very big but you can find shirts, bags, watches, towels, .... if you are a fan of Dalian Shide.

We bought sets of chopsticks or foldup paper fans for gifts. Most of the chopsticks we bought in Chinese department stores, rather than in Walmart. The paper foldup fans we found at many different places. There was a chopsticks store located 3 blocks west of the Swissotel on the ground floor. I think the main entrance of the hotel faces east.
The least expensive gifts, teasets, fans, chopsticks etc. were in the department stores located between the Swissotel and the Victory Shopping Plaza to the West, toward the train station. Leave a Comment Theme: Department Store

The sea cucumber of Dalian is very popular. It is sold everywhere -markets, supermarkets, shopping centers, souvenir shops, etc.

I like all kinds of supermarket, but I really love the Chinese one, so huge! with so many things I love! all sort of tea, soft drinks, Cookies, Snacks, and the local milk.
Milk:
the brand Men Niu (mongolian cow), cetified organic, it's so rich and creamy, it's the one thing I really miss now,

you can buy it at the entrance of the market, it's a kind of candied fruit on a stick, the original one should be hawthorne berry, but now people are using all kinds of fruit, orange, kiwi, banana....
roasted seeds,
the green tea roasted pumpkin seed is a must!
