The Zoo is devided into 6 parts: herbivorous animals, lions and tigers, the pavilion of black àðàíãóòàíãîâ, monky's mountine, bear's park and ground of Asian elephant. Here you can see more then 300 spices of animals. Not far ago there was opened an botanical garden with a huge collection of tropical plants and big cactuses. Here you can try a safari on a comfortable bus.
The park is very big so your trip to it can take a day. Believe me you'll be very tired and don't forget to use before an sunprotective creame.
You know, I love animals... But I haven't seen happy eyes of animals being there. They seemed to be a little bit tired of all that guys (as I was) that make pics of them. I'm not sure I'm right and I want to believe that I was not right! The entrance costs 80 yuans

One of the most beautiful memory was a trip to Bingyu Valley (Ice Valley). Its about 150 miles (about 240 km) north of Dalian so you should leave early in the morning. Our Dalian friend organized a trip with a travel agency and it took about three hours to get there.
Unfortunetely the weather was cold and rainy, so we couldnt see any caves. The reason, we couldnt pass the river to the main attractions of "Guilin of the North". Due to ancient geological phenomena in the earths crust in the region, there are rock formations and caves that are rarely seen in northern China.

From the Dong Hai Park we took a taxi for a sightseeing tour on the Binhai Lu.
A wonderful idea is the decoration of animals of the sea like the shart you can see on the photo. Each taxi driver will stop even in the middle of the road, just to give you the chance to take photos.

This aquarium ranks as one of China's largest. Situated at Tiger Beach Park, this wonder-center consists of four parts: Sea Animals Exhibition Area, Tropical Fish Area, Large Sea Animals Area, and a show and performance area. we can view penguins, sharks, live coral and numerous other species. The performance pool stages live diving shows and other colorful events, such as the Sea Maiden Show. this aquarium not only provides fun for the whole family but also enhances knowledge about the ocean and its inhabitants.

The Xinghai Square was built in 1997 in honor of return Hong Kong to China. . It is located in central part of a bay Xinghai and occupies the territory in 600 thousands sq. meters. It is the largest square in Dalian.
In the center of the square you can see a Huabiao pillar with a bas-relief, symbolizing China. Its height is 19,97 meters, the diameter is 1,997 meters. These numerals remind of the year 1997 when Hong Kong was recovered to China. On a pillar is sliced the Dragon, in its base are sliced 8 dragons. All dragons symbolize the development of Chinese nation (descendants of a dragon). On a platform that surrounds the monument were dislodged out traditional symbols of a Chinese horoscope (12 animals). Find your birth year, get up on it and think of a desire. It will come true one day.
In the other side of a Xinghai Square is located another one monument. Itýs a gigantic white-stoned revealing book. It was erected in honor of a hundred-year-old Dalian and it symbolizes all historical events of Dalian.

Somebody told me there are more then 200 squares in this tiny city, so DaLian is also called the city of Squares,
Among them, I suggest you visit Zhongshan , XingHai(star ocean),and People Square .
If you go to those squares at night, you can see many locals dancing and kids playing, street vendors selling newspaper, flower, tiny toys.

Xinghai park is a huge square surrounded by many sino-roccoco flashing lights. To the east is a series of ritzy apartment buildings, and on the sea is a big concrete 'bowl' - with spotlights shining into the night sky at both ends. There's also an imitation "castle" off the square. Chinese theme-park style at it's best. Bewilderingly garish, but yet they put a lot of effort into and it has it's own bizarre charm.
If you are looking for someplace to bring a date, this is probably the most romantic spot in Dalian.
