i left the jeep under the ramp and climbed onto it and found i was on the top of large mine. it is gongchangling iron mine under my feet.
gongchangling iron mine has a big resouce with 2/5 iron minerial in liaoning province. during the war with japanese, the invader controlled the mine and stole a large number of the minerial and kill more than 10 thousand of chinese workers.
our jeep zigzaged on the road of mine area and it was a hard experince for us that want to go back home quickly. there no flat way just muddy path for driving. many worker's house on the both side of road. they are the building in japanese style.

in fact, most of xiuyan jade are not the real jade (jadeite and naphrite), but serpentine. any way, they are beactiful stones mined and carved by chinese craftmen. xiuyan has found the largest serpentine boulder in histroy, a hill-like treasure with total weight 60,000 ton, which is much more larger then the serpentine buddha in anshan.
in the mine of wa gou, we saw this wonderful giant. also, we met the guard to protect the treasure, a honest red face guy. he told us he is a night guard and his duty is to protect the big stone not to be quarried by illegal miner, and he will leave the post when some company invest to develop this project. now, the local govenment is looking for invester to develop this natural wonder.
arround the boulder, we can easily pick up some small jade block. they are look like comman stone, but after we wash out the mud and clean them, the beautiful look pleased us so much.
