Sophie's World Bar: Fun times

by avjo19

Was the absolute best place to hang out for expats who wanted good service, good beer and not be overcharged. Have heard that it caters a bit more to the higher end and more Chinese now, but still shouldn't be missed. The bar manager Johnny is great and Sophie the owner is a wonderful lady. It's on Ba Wei Lu and Bei Er Jing Jie.

MC Blues Bar & restuarant: Chill Out & Nice Staff

by soundchaseruk

Where to grab a bite to eat and relax with a drink in Yangshuo ?? So many choices but by accident I came to MC blues bar and met Willow a lovely and happy girl working there. The conversation was great the food good and the music just up my street. I remember Counting Crows being played as I left on my last night. We did have an electrical fire break out in the kitchen, which was ok in the end, and the candles on the table even added to the atmosphere !!A few American mountain climbers in on one night and it was the first time I had heard the F-word for two weeks. Shame I had to hear it. casual

The night lights of the night life

by melosh

After you have seen a Chinese city by day, you must return to see it by night. The Chinese have apparently fallen in love with seeing ancient and modern buildings outlined in neon and fluorescent lights. They even have lights that change colors so you can see a building outlined in first in yellow and then red, green, purple and blue. This is obviously an aesthetic choice (even if you do not agree with the aesthetics) because by Western standards the street lighting is often inadequate.

Scarlet's

by jls274

Well, of course I have only experienced the Nightlife here in Nanjing, so I would have to recommend Scarlet's. It is a very good place to dance and meet other people, especially foreigners. It is very much like clubs in America, so if you have been to one of them, and like it- check this out. You can wear normal clubbing clothes.

Shanghai- Acrobat Show

by mad4travel

Normally I would never go to an acrobat show but this was truly amazing. There were lots of different acts of people diving though hoops , balancing on one another and plate spinning with about a thousand plates. They saved the best for last though with a bunch of motorcyclists who drove one by one into this cage. They proceeded to whizz around at different angles so fast you could hardly see them, lord knows how they didn't crash. It really was breath holding stuff. The photo here did not really do it justice!

Nightlife in China: Enjoy your nightlife during your trip in China

by neverstoptravel

What's the local nightlife in China? In most large cities, there is almost no different from the one in western countries, only except the red light zone and casino which are illegal in the country. In metropolitan cities like Shanghai,or Beijing, people in different classes may enjoy their nightlife in different places:Night Clubs for members only, the places for top elites.Bars, all kinds of and some with live show, scattered in the every corner of the city.Night Theater, say Xintiandi in Shanghai, the upscale one.Discos, popular everywhere especially for young adults, beware of drugs deals.Karaoke Center, such as cashbox, low-medium expense for satisfied equipment and service, the most popular one in China.Karaoke night club, another popular style in China which usually provide some ladies accompanying singing or drinking with you. There are lots of 'deals' happened everyday in these...
