Like many countries, pick-pockets syndicate is wide-spread.2 incidents happened while I was in Xi'an. One person escaped but the other fell prey to the pick-pocket "professionals.INCIDENT 1:A woman started screaming out of no-where and everyone turns to look at her (Its human nature to look right? ) and a small boy enters the big crowd and tries his luck to get some wallets. Thankfully, my colleague realised something amiss, and saw the boy in action.They screamed at the boy and he ran away with his "guardian" and the "screaming woman"INCIDENT 2: A colleague of mine was shopping, keeping her sling bag in-front of her at all times. A small girl brushes through her and walks pass coolly. My colleague did not notice anything wrong and kept on shopping.
