Chinese weddings are made of three stages: signature of the paperwork with the civil authority, the photographs, and the banquet with much importance being given to the wedding photos, which are usually taken in a scenic place (or places) of choice of the couple.
Over the weekends, literally hundreds of newlyweds flock into Qingdao for their wedding photographs. Two favorite places are at the Bathing Beach #2 and on the rocky coastline between Beach #2 and Beach #3, where in the day of my visit I could notice dozens of couples in line to secure the best spots. The most interesting part of the story is that, under the burning sun, dressed up with their wedding dresses, none of those couples looked happy!

It is very hard to discuss with chinese people, they will always make sure not to "loose their face". We had been in Qingdao in wintertime and so it became totally dark already at 05.30pm. Our ship arrived at 3.30,then we had some customs-formalities and our organized bustour of Tsingdao started at 4.00 with the brewery, ALTHOUGH it was stated in all announcements that the brewery would be done at the end of the tour.
There was no way to persuade them and they even told us that the brewery-museum would be closed at 06.00pm so this is our only way to see it and most people of our group gave up insisting. In the evening we found out that half of the buses saw the city in daylight and the brewery in the dark, and the other half went to the brewery first because it was easier that way for the tour-organisation.
And now you know why some of my pics are so dark !
And another problem with this bus-company was that the bus-windows did not get dry and they did not have an aircondition or any other means to solve this problem, see my last pic !

Quingdao will be a good place to learn chinese for german people,because you will find a lot of people here speaking some german and even some of the inscriptions in the city are in latin letters, so you will be not totally lost in the beginning like in other chinese cities. There are several schools for german, as our tourguide told us

Even if you order soup noodle, it is customary that the noodles only come in a bowl and a pair of chopsticks. The locals drink their soup from the bowls, or don't drink the soup at all.
You will have to request for a spoon. It is called "Xiao3 Shao2 Zi3".

There are lots of Old Buiding in Old City Zone. All the old buildings have pipe on the top. Why? Because under their beds there are fire, in the winter it provides warm bed.
