Jinmao Tower - skip 88th floor and go to 87 or 53

Maybe it's because I work in the Jinmao Building I don't have any desire to go the very top for the view (and pay the relatively hefty admission to get up there). But, I have been to the Cloud 9 Bar on the 87th floor and the Piano Bar on the 53rd floor many times, and think the views are great there. For the price of admission to the top you can enjoy a drink or two in the bar. I actually prefer the view from the 53rd floor (or from one of the Hyatt restaurants on the 54th floor during the daytime). When you're on the 87th floor (or on viewing deck on 88), you're so high you can hardly see the ground. Maybe that's part of the thrill, but to me an airplane takeoff or landing is more interesting. The most interesting thing about the 87th floor bar is the steel support columns all around - now that's neat to see how they have to make the building so strong at the top to keep it stable.

Unique Suggestions: Choose either the Jinmao OR the Pearl Tower to ascend, but not both, and only do so "if you must".
