by Sharrie Enjoy the glittering lights of Puxi & Pudong at the same time on the river cruise. The boat will ply along Huangpu River, one of the most famour rivers in China. A lot has happened around this area in the 50s or even earlier. Well, I happened to know this from the many Hong Kong TV serials, one v. famous being "Shang Hai Tan". A little imagination is all one needs to go back in time. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Peace Hotel & Bank of China.

by Sharrie To complete seeing Shanghai, go on the HUANG PU RIVER CRUISE. To a visitor, there are 3 main perspective on Shanghai; from the gutters, from the heights & from the waters. I love the heights but the waters offers some very remarkable views of this city. We took a 2 hour trip on the Huang Pu River & enjoyed ourselves tremendously. We paid about RMB 90 for a special class A on the top deck but I think one could get a cheaper rate on a smaller boat & lower deck. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by Sharrie Highest Bar in the World. Reservation highly recommended. Personally I found the views from the TV Tower much better than here. As the Jin Mao Tower is more squarish in shape, many parts of the city is being blocked. For a better view, I highly recommend the TV Tower. But, if you want to have a drink at the highest bar in the world, this is the place to be! Paulaner Brauhaus Paulaner Brauhaus has three floors, with the upper two being galleries where you can look down onto the stage where a Phillippine band is performing. There is a small dance floor. The beer is brewed in traditional German style by a German brewmaster. It also serves German food and for a snack you should try the Bretzel. M-Box Absolutely tip-top place if you like local live music and the place is packed out most nights, so much so that it is wise to call for a reservayion if you fancy eating here. Has both Western and Asian food but the place has music written all over it and this is a happening place that is well worth a visit. The bands start off at 9pm every evening and instead of short sets, they play all the way through until 1am. by Jiang_Cucha Judy's too Has been one of the favourites amongst the Expat crowd for years and like a fine wine, Judy's Too seems to get better with age. Great music played almost every night and the DJ's have the ability to vary the music according to the patronage - so no patterns and repetitive music here. Has a variety of themes during the week, from Remix Night on a Wednesday, local DJ on a Thursday, 90's night on a Sunday and lots of guest DJ's making appearances at weekends. Judy's Too is the party place where no matter how many times you go, you never see the same thing twice! by Jiang_Cucha Park 97 With its green and yellow terrazzo floor and dark wood-boothed dining areas, Park 97 invites guests to eat delicious Western influenced meals and snacks or just drink a cafe latte while perusing the many imported magazines. With a seductive mural as its centerpiece across from the cocktail bar, the bar provides cocktails, beers, wines and champagnes. Further into the back of the Cafe sits The Lounge mezzanine overlooking the Cafe; its cozy dark autumn colors and warm lighting and ambient music take you to another dimension of Cafe society.
