This is a very huge mall near the Pudong Lujiazui. After you have visiting the riverfront and the pedestrian bridge, this would be a great place to relax for shopping, dinning, and coffee. I came across a shop that sell this modern Chinese art ceramic work. They are pretty unique and fine art works.

Jing'an District is one of those old districts in Shanghai. You can explore several attractions nearby Jing'an Station. Jing'an Temple is the main attraction, but during my visit It was under heavy construction. There is a modern Jing'ansi Shopping Mall next to the Temple, surrounded by shops with restaurants, brand clothing shops, and etc. I am more interested to see the Paramount Building (百樂門) at night. The classical Paramount building was the famous night club and ballroom for many decades since 1933 for many history revolution in Shanghai. There is a Jing'an Park on exit 5 off the station too.

This exhibition hall would be a great start of your Shanghai Experience. It exhibits the history, the present, and the future plans of the Shanghai Development. It has many displays of attractions in Shanghai in mini architectural models. It gets you the idea whether it is worth your time to visit those places. During my visit, it exhibits its present World Expo 2010. It was quite a impressive exhibition. You should not miss this place if you are visiting the People's Square.
Entrance: Y30/Adult.
Opening Hours: Tue-Thu 9am-4pm, Fri-Sun 9am-5pm; closed on Monday.

This is a huge area with many attractions including the greenery parks overlook at the city skyline, Shanghai Urban Exhibition Center, Shanghai Museum, Underground Shopping mall, Shanghai Grand Theater, and many more. The locals love to come here to meet up their friends for walk, Tai Chi, jogging, dancing, and etc. This is the biggest park in the city center, but unfortunately it lays between the busy streets of Nanjing Road and Yanan Road, where you can hear heavy traffic between these roads. You can get good pictures of the area from the Shanghai Urban Exhibition Center Building.

This bike tour was one of the most incredible experiences of my time in Shanghai and of my entire life! It was the best way to see the city, our leader were very knowledgeable and fascinating guides. They took us to historical sites as well as back alleys and side streets, so we really got a feel for the entire city. I HIGHLY recommend them to any visitor to Shanghai! Do NOT pass up a chance to bike with them!

Upon leaving the Arts and Crafts Museum we had to navigate our way through a busy intersection. We then decided to take a few photos of this"organised chaos". Amazing what you see when you watch the traffic jumble as there are no traffic rules except the horn blowing. There appears to be a horn blowers code, as the different sounds appear to indicate an action.
What took our eye was a man transporting a load of cane furniture, a massive load he was manually pulling along the road oblivious to the cars and vans manoeuvering around him.

For most people the architecture and decoration of the villa is the main attraction, however do not overlook the crafts on display, all handmade and excellent skills involved. We enjoyed the exhibits and purchased one of the dolls from the display cabinet.

The French Concession Villa which is now used as the Arts & Crafts Museum has many rooms reflecting the early 20th century architecture.
The villa was built in 1905 and for those times the bathroom was huge. However what took my notice was the elaborate shower, never have I seen anything like it.

This was our first stop during our Neighbourhood Walk of the French Concession. Out Guide Book detailed an extensive walk through this exciting district of old Shanghai.
This beautiful villa was the home of a high ranking official of the French Municipal Administration and later occupied by Chen Yi, the first Communist mayor of Shanghai.
The villa is presently the home of the Arts & Crafts Museum and the villa has been maintained in good condition. For a small entry fee you can gain entry to the villa where much of the original furniture and fittings remain. The teak paneled library, marbled fireplaces, luxury entrance foyer, coffered ceilings, beautiful staircase are all features of the typical French Concession properties.
The opportunity to enter such properties now is rare. Many of the great villas' have been converted to business premises, rental flats, or demolished.
The exhibits of Arts & Crafts are of a high standard and we purchase a doll.

This park was established in 1952 on land which was the former British built race club. Peoples Park was designed by Mr Cheng Shi-fu and originally covered an area of 150,000 square metres.
Located in the centre of the city it is surrounded by high rise city buildings and has become the city's favourite park.
We took a relaxing walk through the park and enjoyed the magnificent trees, the relaxation of being away from the hustle and bustle of the central city.
We were surprised to stumble onto a high stakes card game, then around the next corner the Xishan waterfall.
Located within the park is the Museum of Contempory Arts.
