Dicos are a Chinese fast food chain, similar to KFC, but not as good. They do a lot of chicken burgers just like KFC but the quality of the burger and chips was well below what you'd expect in the west. This branch is close to the train station on the main east-west road called Yingze Avenue.

We found this place strolling in the nightlife area near Liu Xiang Street. The owner, Alberto Zhang, is a native of Shanghai. He speaks some English and he is a very nice guy and helpful in recommending dishes. We ordered a fish dish and two vegetable dishes, and dessert, and they were all very good. If you have occasion to stop in Taiyuan on your travels, this is a good place to have a meal. Meals for two, with drinks, around 70 yuan. The decor is simple, but the staff were courteous and eager to please.
Favorite Dish: The roasted peppers were among the best I have had. We also loved the mushrooms with leafy vegetable. The flavors were subtle and the textures were just right.
