    Qingcheng Shan's restroom facilities

    by John195123 Written Mar 5, 2008

Favorite thing: Qingcheng Chan has restroom (bathroom, WC) facilities in various places on the mountain (see the map on the tickets for locations). They seem to be generally clean. One, on the path that parallels the chair lift, it's an automated, high tech composting toilet... the fruits of its and your labor can be seen in the small garden behind it. Very clean (Feb. 2008). The whole park seems well cared for, so I assume the other facilities are just as clean.

    leisureful life style

by mmjx Written Mar 17, 2006

Favorite thing: Tea shop ,maybe represents the true life style of the people in Chengdu. I can see tea shop where I've been. It seemed that everyone have nothing more important than enjoying a cup of a warm tea and chatting with friends. You can try them.

Fondest memory: There are varieties of snacks in Chengdu. most of them are spicy, but delicious. For example, hotpot(different from which in Chongqing), Fuqi Feipian, Lai rice glue ball,Dandan Mian(a kind of noodles),etc.

    Strong peoples

    by l_joo Written Apr 30, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: This picture has many peoples, they are very strong peoples to me especially for me, from tropical Malaysia. Why I think so? Here in China, the competitiveness are 100 times tougher than my country, no way to compete with them physically. I even suspect men in Malaysia can compete with women here, perhaps try arrange a soccer match of Chinese women vs. Malaysian Men, to find out the answer.

    Watching young strong men

    by l_joo Written Apr 30, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Not all my tips are for watching women, now I also uploaded a picture of two strong topless men on street for you, take a look. The day was too hot, 30+ C, probably too many peoples, had to take off shirt to get some refresh. These boys are very strong, in fact most Chinese men or women all were strong, weak peoples are not recommended to live in China.

Favorite thing: Here you have the golden opportunity to look at a local lady, she is definitely a Chendu. She had colorful hairstyle, tattoed eyebrows, fair skins, etc, very trendy look, up-to-date kind of outlook, but, in fact, I was looking at the other one behind her, this lady suddenly turned her body over to me, the camera thus captured her, so guys, this is for you.

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: I snapped this picture on a public bus here, don't ask me why, just click to enlarge to know why. I don't know whether the entire Chengdu resided so many beautiful ladies or it was some coincidental moments, but try not to analyze that, for now, just look at Chengduan beauties.

    Beautiful lady on EB

    by l_joo Written Apr 30, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Now take some relax time to watch this beautiful lady riding the EB on street of Chengdu. Definitely she is riding EB, take a close look, don't just look at her body parts, please concentrate looking at the bicycle parts. If your government allow EB on street, what will happen then? Well ermm, one bike needs two Dollars a day, Chengdu has 9 millions, times 2 equal to 18 million Dollars a day for just the fuel alone to be earned. Okay I expect somebody send me emails to educate me that power plants needed more natural fuels kind of story.

    by l_joo Written Apr 30, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Here is another picture showing how many such machines already been on the road for use, not just a dream. The cost of these EB is ridiculously cheap, you don't even want to know the exact price, me too. I imagine if those corrupted government willing to allow these machines on roads in their countries, what else dirty money will they earn then?

    Electric bicycles

    by l_joo Updated Apr 29, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: I think the entire China nowadays is going for electric bicycles, as shown in picture. I saw so many on street, man and women all rode it, quite handy, pollution free. The shop owner told me, the machine only need 2 hours charging at home, just like charging mobile phones. Click the picture to enlarge, take a good look of how they build it. The speed is not that fast from what I saw, its about 40km/p on street without engine noises.

    Chinese streetlife

by sachara Updated Nov 8, 2003

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: When I walked in the backstreets, not far from our hotel, I entered in the middle of Chines life. In the backstreets kids were playing. Curious old women came out of the house, looking, smiling and greeting. Old men were sitting at the side walk , playing their game and discussing all kind of matters.

    Backstreets of Chengdu

by sachara Updated Nov 8, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: Chengdu or Jincheng, city of brocade, departmentstore of heaven or perfect metropole .....
I loved anyway the diversity of the city and it was not bad to be obliged to stay a little longer in this city, because the flights to Tibet were cancelled day after day.
We had to stay near our Sichuan hotel for news, so the backstreets, just around the hotel, were often the place for me to go.
Some of these streets had a lot of shops and workshops and were very lively.

    Traditional houses

by sachara Updated Nov 8, 2003

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: I enjoyed my walks in the old living quarters of the centre of Chengdu. It was not far from our hotel, just 100 M behind the large avenues with a lot of traffic. It was like walking in a village or small town. It was nice to experience the relaxed atmosphere at such a short distance of the busy citylife.
I especially loved the architecture of the traditional houses with wooden balconies.

    Traditional living areas

by sachara Updated Nov 8, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: From the market we walked back to our hotel through a nice area with lovely alleways with traditional wooden houses, which were not pulled down. A huge contrast with the modern skyscrapers in other parts of the same centre. I wonder, if there are still these lovely areas in the present centre of Chengdu, more than 10 years later.
And if so, I hope that some of these traditional houses and areas will be renovated and preserved for the future instead of replaced by modern high apartment buildings.
