Look at the picture, it's the gate of Chonggu temple in Yading. when the ball rock up the base rock that chiseled tibetan characters, it's mean there is some ceremony holding in the temple. So, you should n't go into the temple to break them. Defering to tibetan consuetude is one of the most importance when travel tibetan area.
