If you have the chance, take some time to have a look at the local villages on the way to Munigou. It's like stepping back in time. I didn't want to disturb the people so I only took some pictures from far, but it made a big impression on me.

SONGPAN : HORSE TREK

The horses gotta eat...

A great way to experience the breath-taking mountain scenery, glacial rivers, pine trees and remote Tibetan villages.

I joined a four-day horse trek to view the Ice Mountain. But there are various other trails, some just 1 day, some 3 days. There is one guide for one tourist. Three meals a day, tents, blankets, warm yak coats and tea are all provided.

The guides set up the tents, cook for you and pack up everything. They are friendly and yodel mountain songs all the time. They speak no English but it is not usually a problem. Excellent experience. I certainly recommend this.
