There are many small inexpensive restaurants near Princess WenCheng statue. Try one if you are brave for some real, Sichuan food.

One of my nicest restaurant experiences in China. After I went to this one I realized that most of the expensive restaurants are only expensive because of the decoration. We came here when the place was still empty. The food was really really simple but extremely well-prepared. While we were eating the waitresses were heating their feet on a stove. Nice and authentic. Good simple food in a quiet restaurant.
Price: 45 yuan for four persons.

Songpan has some of the best streetfood ever. They have all kinds of Tibetan fried breads, or tofu and vegetables cooked over a spitfire.
Favorite Dish: I really loved the tofu slices with chili pepper, and the Tibetan breads. They also have yak meat if you're adventurous!

Star Moon Restaurant has green moons in the windows and a green sign overhead. Although these Muslim dishes are on the expensive side (Y15-20), they are well worth the price. Friendly cooks let you come into the kitchen to see how it's done.
Favorite Dish: I'm a vegetarian, so I ordered an eggplant dish with tomatoes and garlic. It was absolutely delicious!
