Traffic is very scary in Tianjin and in China as general. Few times I consider to take a taxi across the street as 7 rmb insurance :).
Riding taxi at rush hours is intresting. Many times taxi passed traffic jam by driving oncoming lane and few times by driving sidewalk.
One scary thing with Chinese taxi drivers is side curtain. When there is a bit of sunshine they close left side curtain so that driver doesen't see to left at all..
