I was very surprised to find such a beautiful ,catholic Cathredal. When you enter the Golden street and walk down the Binjiang Dao till the end and cross over the Nanjing Lu(big street)you come directly to the church.Absolutely worth a visit.I was there at a mass and it was beautiful.Don`t feel offended or disturbed by some chinese ,,bypassers`` which are behaving very curious(typical Asian style or chinese behaviour).Chinese people are usually very curious, specially when it comes to western style things. They don`t mean to be rude. But I have to admitt that it took me some time to get used to it.

by fabrice it is very interesting to go and get lost in the city,it is huge, you will find strange places which have not changed since the middle-age.At the same time, the very center of the city is very modern. see the tianjin TV tower

by Sakura_Kobe It is very hard to walk the main street where the exhaust gas and the strong sun light attack you. Why don't you step in a back street, where big trees have long branches with many leaves to shut the sun then cool wind blow your face. You can catch a glimpse of the people's life in Tianjin on such a back lane. Leave a Comment

by Sakura_Kobe There is a river named Hai River in front of Tianjin Station. You can scroll along the promenade on the riverside. Late afternoon is the best time for a walk. The comfortable breeze will touch you face softly in the shade of the trees. Leave a Comment

The 'hutongs' near the Drum Tower. Around the Drum Tower and its traffic circle are mazes of hutongs, remnants of the once common traditional northern Chinese dwelling. The area next to the Drum Tower has some nice old homes and the Guangdong Guild Hall and theater. Leave a Comment

Vendor selling candied fruit in Tianjin, China by linwei66 When looking for something to eat I suggest you try some street food. Vendors stand on street corners or side streets and sell food that is usually like a wrap with either chicken or vegetables. Don't let the shabby stands fool you. This food is really quite good. Also in Tianjin, you will notice street vendors selling candied fruit on sticks. These are a really great snack. My favorite is the candy coated orange slices. Leave a Comment
