I like this street since I was a young girl. I think I have been there hundreds of times.
It is funny to enjoy the old Chinese culture there, such as mud figurine, kite and Chinese painting. So if it is your first time in Tianjin, don't forget to look around this place. You will find the typical old Chinese Culture there.

As a trade center of North China from 20th Century, Tianjin remains lots of elegant houses in European style, such as French, British and Russian. The houses either gather along Haihe River, or spread in the downtown.
Some of these houses are commercialized, so customers can spend their time in these houses, have a drink or set down enjoying the nights.

In addition to the classic European style architecture remnants of Tianjin's history as a foreign concession, Tianjin's major attractions are the antique market and food street. Tianjin's antique market contains goods from all over China. Along Tianjin's food street it is possible to sample some of the city's most famous delicacies, most notably the mahua or dough twists. It is also possible to try exotic dishes like dog and snake. The picture is of the famous Tianjin TV Tower. Another major attraction.

Follow the alley behind the Xikai Chruch with the onion domes and you will come to a wonderful pet market. Lots of fish and birds. In the winter you will see them pouring water from tea kettles into the aquariums to warm the fish. The portable pet shops on tricycles are cool too.
Unfortunately you can see many endangered animals for sale. Eagles, magpies, turtles, squirrels, etc. all of which are 'protected'.
