Various: Yak Chilli

by grets

This dish of yak chilli with pepper, onions and tomatoes was nice and spicy but the meat was a little chewy. Not worth a repeat.

Various: Tibetan Fried Rice

by grets

The Tibetan Fried Rice was absolutely superb, with nice crunchy vegetables. A very tasty vegetarian alternative for when you are fed up with yak meat!

Tip Photo
Various: Momo Soup

by grets

The soup was quite bland and the momos were filled with meat – yes, you guessed it! Yak meat! It was quite pleasant, but nothing more than that. Very filling for a reasonable price.

Various: Cheese momos

by grets

These momos – dumplings filled with cheese – were very cheesy, and the tomatoey sauce served with it was very tangy!

Various: Swet and Sour Yak Meat

by grets

Here is the yak meat again in another guise – as a sweet and sour. It was really rather nice, quite sweet, not dissimilar to the sweet and sour you get in Chinese takeaways back in the UK.

Various: Swede Cakes

by grets

The bright orange swede cakes or patties were on the breakfast buffet a couple of times and it was rather peculiar tasting. It was quite chewy and not something that I would choose again.

Various: Seaweed soup

by grets

The sea weed soup did not have a very strong taste to it, it was like a weak fishy soup, with bits of poached egg floating around in it. Nothing special.

Various: Mixed Vegetables

by grets

The cauliflower and broccoli mix was served in a very nice, piquant sauce with ginger, The vegetables had been cooked well and were still crunchy.

Various: Fish Balls

by grets

The fish balls were served in a sauce with some dark green sliced cucumber or possibly marrow. They were quite nice, not too fishy. I know that sounds odd, but I am not a great fish lover.

Various: Yak Curry Set

by grets

The yak curry set consisted of rice, raw vegetables, hot pickle, vegetable curry (this was quite spicy), dhal, yak curry and garlic naan. It was very nice.
