Our train ticket from Korla to ZhangYe is 95yuan each for hard seat normal speed train 22 hours total. This train goes pass many beautiful places in mostly big mountain range with vast landscape, very hot in the month of July when goes pass Turpan, most passengers on train strip topless.

Picture is the train station's ticket office, the train station is opposite, not at the same place, but is only across the road, very easy. The bus station is at another location, you can take cab or take a local public bus there. I went to both bus and train to ask, at least decided to take train to ZhangYe. I bought the seat ticket which is the 3rd class train, very exciting, at night passengers sleep on the floor with sputums and garbage all in one. Of course you can buy the second or first class train without having to enjoy the sputums and smokings. One more thing while you buy train ticket, you better watch out for peoples trying to jump queue, they never care about your queue, they just walk straight to somewhere near your front and they stand there as if they only want to wait for friends, then slowly, they move step by step near the queue, that's how they jump queue, and nobody cares.

This is taken on the train of 3rd class with hard seat. The seat is quite comfortable but you can't adjust, at night you still be sitting, that's why passengers had to sleep on the floor, and the Chinese spitted so much in day time with garbage all there, so its quite fun to experience this kind of thing. Wanna try?

Korla was once an oasis on the northern branch of the silk road when it crossed the Takla Makan desert. Nothing seems to be left from the caravans times, and Korla is now a modern 300.000 inhabitants...
