One of the first things you'll notice in Jinghong is all signs are in two languages. After asking around found out the other language is Dai. It is one of the only minority groups in China with a written language, and it is similar to Thai.

Jinghong has a large Burmese population. Many Burmese men wear a longyi, which is a type of long wrap skirt.
