Ok, this is as gross as it could get!
Insects, reptiles... soaked in Chinese wine & they drink them for some healing functions!
Anyone ever try this?
I bet those who participated in "Survival" can stomach this. Me? Forget it!

The restaurant is a hidden gem, located in a small alley. As its name says, it is in an old house, a classical local courtyard architecture structure.
Public dinning hall is in the open air of the courtyard once you step into the restaurant. With an ever-spring weather in Kunming, unless it is raining, you can enjoy your meal under moonlight and star-light (who needs candles anyway now!).
If you want a private dinning room, there are plenty either on the first floor or the second. The courtyard is sort of typical Bai architecture style, a courtyard enclosed with a U-shape house (2-floor) on its three sides, and front entrance.
Favorite Dish: Mushrooms! It has various types of mushroom dishes.
The crispy eggplant dish -cui4 pi2 qie2 zi4-Lou! :)- was good as well.
Green vegetables (ji1 mao2 cai4=chicken feather green leaf vegetable).
The typical local cousine tends to be hot and spicy, but you can ask to make your dishes mild or without any chilli pepper at all.

There is a restaurant in an old market ware house with a show of traditional dancing and singing. It seems to be a very traditional Yunnan place to see. It was quite crowded, but beware, that people dine out early in the evening. By 9 pm everything is done.
They have this special way to keep your tea-cup filled. Don't be anxious, but it looks frightening in the first place, filling your cup with boiling hot water from a distance of 1 m
Favorite Dish: Try everything, there is not one particular dish, you order a broad variety of food. Some, probably most of it is soaked in Chili !

This place serves good pizza! And besides pizza, they serve very good Qi Guo Ji, a type of brewed herbal chicken soup. Try it!
Favorite Dish: Try the Qi Guo Ji! And their pizza!

Rice noodle is the staple in Kunming.
The Kunmingnites eat this for breakfast and lunch.
This noodle is similar to what we Malaysians use in our asam laksa.
