kunming airport is very close to the city, you can go to any where by taxi, the cost will not more than 30 RMB

Bus number 67 runs from the airport to the train station. Fare is 1 CNY.

Taxi fares around Kun MIng are rather expensive especially with massive jams most of the time. The meter just keeps jumping esp in a jam. Better to take buses around as they are a flat rate.

I took an air-con express bus from Lijiang to Kunming. 10 hours. RMB152 including set lunch. The bus is very good, with TV and toilet inside, pretty fast and smooth.

This is the soft sleepers train car. The difference between hard sleepers and soft sleepers:
Hard - no doors, 6 beds per cubicon
Soft - with sliding door, 4 beds per cubicon

There are sleepers train connecting GuangZhou and Kunming. Hard sleepers about 310Yuan. It took 30 hours, slow train stopping every city / stop in GuangXi and GuiZhou. But the sleeper too bad though.

Bus fares are cheap . Somes bus can be stopped anytime anywhere just to pick-up or drop passenger at their convenience . However, you have to bear with the squeeze cos the bus is always packed .
