Have your fortune read - RMB 100 minimum !!!

It seems extremely innocent when you are asked to draw a stick and have your fortune read by the master at any temple. But be prepared to pay RMB 100 minimum. !!!!

And it is the worst at the "Bei Yue temple" with those Tibeten fortune tellers. They will ask you to have 3 candles lit for RMB 300 !!!

High Altitude Sickness

Since Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is located over 10,000 feet above sea level, high altitude sickness can pose a problem. Faster heartbeats, shortness of breath or throbbing head pains are signs of altitude sickness. you can purchase oxygen inflated balloons in case you feel uneasy ascending the mountain via ropeway.

Got cheated RMB100 innocently.
VIsted a temple inside BLACK DRAGON POOL . Draw a luck stick for my fortune telling. A fortune teller later read my fate based on my luck stick, and I was being asked to burn 3 big incense , to thanks the mercy gods. I did and I donated RMB10 in the donation box. When I am about to leave, the woman stopped me and asked for RMB100 for those 3 big incense ! ! ! ! It is alright to pay for them but I felt cheated ! ! !

Hire coats at the base of the cable car up to Yak Mountain. They are necessary.
30 Yuan each.

OR

You could hire longer coats for 50-60 Yuan at the place in the photograph.

One of the things you don't often hear is that Lijiang is almost overrun with monstruous, hungry, wild dogs like those pictured below. Watch your step!

Two images of utter ferocity!

Checking the Map in Old Town

Be sure to get a map when touring Old Town.

It is easy to become lost; but that is half the fun.

Enjoy the adventure.
