Tip 3

Tip 3, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Now you can see I never had enough by snapping again using my left hand self-click for one more moment of happiness of border crossing. You probably never understand why I like border but it just so interesting for me. You can also see my face fully covered by dust coming...

Tip 2

Tip 2, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Yes I decided to take the tuk-tuk car to Boten custom office and while I was about to hop on, I wanted it snap for remembrance and here you can see how I enjoy my moment of crossing border of Mohong-Boten.

Tip 1

Tip 1, Mohong

l_joo Says:  This is the vehicle waiting at the very first right after the Mohong custom office to earn tourists' money to send you 500 meters to another custom office of Laos for passport scrutiny and queueing and purchase on the spot Visa etc. I couldn't remember how much they charge...

Tip 2, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Our dishes in Mohong town just before crossing border into Laos. We simply walk into a restaurant anywhere the bus drop us, just walk in a sit down and make order and the dish came and I just snap and I uploaded here as a tip. Hope you like it.

Boten Tip 7

Boten Tip 7, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Hitchhike is one of the way to get from Boten to other towns as shown here in photo. I did this because there's no transportation at all when I arrived, I had to do this but late it rains and I was trapped inside a hut restaurant beside the bus station for nearly 2 hours...

Boten Tip 7

Boten Tip 7, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Do not turn away! This tip is very important for tourists to recognise how much contrast difference in only a border to see the way of clean toiltets from the two countries separated by a line. You probably don't understand what am I trying to say, I want to say to you that...

Boten Tip 6

Boten Tip 6, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Not only you have guesthouses, you also have Laos version of Coca-Cola but much more expensive 5000 kips each. I don't know how to convert but it sounds expensive with four digits.

Boten Tip 5

Boten Tip 5, Mohong

l_joo Says:  At the border has guesthouses, tourists need not worry. Tohugh I did not stay but I upload pohot as a tip for readers, hope it helps also as a photo to enjoy.

Boten Tip 4

Boten Tip 4, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Right at the check point has this thing placed nicely to show us the distance to get to Nateuy 19kms. Nateuy is a small town in within Boten and Luang Namtha, so one can either get a truck bus tuk-tuk to Nateuy or directly to Luang Namtha.

Boten Tip 3

Boten Tip 3, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Now after you completed your passport chop and stamp thing, you walk out from the custom office to see another check point. This one is slightly simpler to check whether you enter Laos legally or you try to sneak in. After this check point, you are free like a bird and...

Boten Tip 2

Boten Tip 2, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Visa on arrival is anytime welcome. One just have to pay money amount US$40 cash to the officer (excuse me, not bribe the officer) to obtain an on-the-spot-Visa. I did mine in Kunming cost me slight cheaper around US$30. I don't like this but what can you do?

Boten Tip 1

Boten Tip 1, Mohong

l_joo Says:  http://www.virtualtourist.com/vt/l/0/?s=boten&c=0&x=true&f=trueAbove is the url for anyone interested in build Boten tips instead of Mohong. I don't want to build another page just because of this political border reason, so I only have Mohong. My photo here is Boten's Laos...

Tip 7

Tip 7, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Very important tip of the very last is to snap a very common view of anything, so I got a roll of shops of Mohong as last for readers to enjoy the happiness of travelling Mohong by l_joo and I hope you like the tip.

Tip 6

Tip 6, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Tip 6 shows my travelling partner in over excited mood of a memorable post by stepping on the line of border for nothing but sheer enjoyment of travelling. I had mine taken too uploaded in my intro page similar with one leg here and one over the line.

Tip 5

Tip 5, Mohong

l_joo Says:  And this is the custom office of the Chinese side separated by a short distance of 500meters approximately from the Boten one. One can start to sense the wind of Laos and the moment of seriousness while waiting for passport to be scanned through. Not many tourists here,...

Tip 4

Tip 4, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Here is a photo of a woman waiting under hot sun at the border, wait what sir? She is a money changer waiting for you to exchange money and while I had some of mine exchanged I decided to snap her up here for readers to see the actual situation of Mohong as a tip.

Tip 3

Tip 3, Mohong

l_joo Says:  I have to repeat this scene again as it was very important here before one can cross the border. One need to exchange some Chinese or US Dollars to Laos Kips before proceeding to the custom office and here in the border has so many peoples chasing you for money exchange, so...

Tip 1

Tip 1, Mohong

l_joo Says:  Mohong is a Chinese version of Boten border or you could say Boten is Laos version of Mohong border of China, which one is more suitable for you? In photo is a general view of this little under-construction town still full of yellow dust everywhere but I love it.
