Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Do not underestimate the intensity of the sunshine in Yunnan. I got badly burned there in February because I forgot to bring sunscreen with me. If you are not in Kunming or one of the tourist towns, you probably will not be able to purchase sunscreen locally. I searched in one entire town and finally found one place that had "whitening sun block SPF 36". THE PROBLEM: it was fake, and did not block the sun at all!
Be very careful.
