It is claimed to be the first bend of Yangtze River. The Yangtze River indeed makes a big U-shape bend here in front of the Shi Gu town territory. The bend is big, no way can one take a photo without climbing up to the hilltop nearby (not easy to access).
As usual, a stone staplet errected here, with the words 'First Bend of the Yangtze River'. A few sourvenir booths set up selling from jeweries to Chinese herbs, dry mushrooms, fake antiques, and so on.
The whole visit at this point: 10 minutes, while the drive from Lijiang to here is ten times longer. However, the scenery along the road is definitely marvelous.
It is not particularly interesting just see the bend. However, some tour info said that a ferry cruise could be taken from here to Tiger Leaping Gorge, weather and water level allow. Ask your locals/hotel people for detail, accurate and updated info when preparing such 'cruise'.
