To visit the Volcano Park, Rehai and Bei Hai, I highly recommend visiting the T.C.C. Cafe and booking a taxi tour. The guy who runs the cafe is very helpful and friendly. For Y160 he arranged a taxi to be hired for the whole day and came along as our guide. Travel to these sites is quite difficult and we saw extra parts only accessible by car. He also arranged for a hot air balloon ride over the volcanoes, which would have been impossible for us to organise on our own. Please see my separate tips on these sites for more information about the journey. The Cafe can be found near the Nationalities Cultural Performance Centre on the way to Dieshui Waterfall.

Bus is really the only option for getting to Tengchong from Baoshan. They leave every 40mins, cost Y36 and take about 3.5 hours. Your next stop from Tengchong may well be Ruili which takes 10 hours and costs Y36.
Getting around the centre of Tengchong is best on foot as everywhere is close and the bits in between are worth seeing. However, to visit the surrounding areas minibuses are best, see seperate tips for exact details.
