The dread delay because of trucks and roadworks!

The road from Datong all the way south to Qiubei was being renewed inearly 2004, but this looked like it was going to take a long time to finish.
These roadworks can lead to major delays (upwards of 2 hours at a time) so be prepared for journeys to last much longer than it might look on the map!
