This bar is owned by 3 people of which an English lady who started as a teacher in Ningbo.
The staff is really helpfull and although it is no restaurant the staff is happy to get you some food from the nearby restaurants.
For the fans, Cheers has the best pooltable in Ningbo.
First, start your evening at Nancy's Thai, for some good Thai food, and after dinner, a drink at the bar. Then, take a taxi to to Lao Waitan to have some drinks. LWT is really the only place to go in Ningbo for nightlife. It's rather like Shanghai's Xintiandi. Rather expensive, but there's not much other choice. The only other pub of importance is O'Reilly's near the Sheraton. If you like dance clubs, try the ones at Tianyi Square. For questions, ask at Ningbo Forums in English or Cnool in Chinese.
Dress Code:
Ningbo is a relaxed place, not at all like snooty Shanghai, so casual clothes are fine. You'll feel more comfortable in better clothes, though, as foreigners are considered to have more class, and the locals are sometimes confused by foreigners who dress like bums in old sandals and cargo shorts.
hi ~ it's ray here.
couple of months ago i was in ningbo and i have found the best Irish pub in town is Shamrock at Lawaitan, just near the Church, infront of Indian Kitchen ~ it's a friendly pub, they got huge collection of music.
Wide range of cocktails, famous beer brands, spirities and so on ~
a piece of busy pool table.
5 pcs of LED TV, you will not miss the live foot balls, rugy, F1 and other live events.
Behind the main area you will find another wide space pub just behind the back door.
they keep open 365 days and at the weekends until morning, even i have seen many locals and foreigners are gathering at the other nights (except weekends),
I like this pub, foreigner friendly pub, most of sales persons can speak English.
You will not miss your favorite mixers or beers.
See you there some day ~ Good Luck.
Dress Code:
Ummm - i have seen a small sign inside the pub " Men - no shirt no beer, Women - No shirt free beer " so guess hahaahaaa
O' Reillys (opposite the Shereden Hotel) and Shamrock (near the Catholic Church) are both typical Irish Bars - Great atmosphere, friendly staff and of course, great beer. Both are good family bars and have Pool table and Darts board and on the nights I visited full of local expats on a normal night out.
Dress Code:
Anything you want, within reason.
