Anji country retreat: time to try snake!

On our arrival there were many groups of people in the beautiful grounds enjoying the many outside activities, we were here for the evening meal and next time we will have to spend the day, this place was fantastic! We had our own dinning room which was very "Anji" with a lot of the timber finnishing made from bamboo! Local food from the region including chicken, frog, snake and some that no one could tell me the english name...lol Shirley has tried snake before but this was rabbit"s first and have to say after dipping it in the flavoursome spice it was really delicious and a pleasant surprise!!

On the roadside we stopped at this very rustic farmhouse type of restaurant where you can relax on the front porch with a cold Snow while lunch is being prepared. We enjoyed the local fresh foods from this area including the chicken which was still running around before we arrived........lol

Anji Xiao new Lobster House: you must try the lobster!

This was great, a freindly family restaurant in Anji which we did not go away hungry on either the two times we dinned here. Clean, tidy with good service and if you get a private room upstairs the air con is so very refreshing you can sit back and enjoy! Well you just have to get stuck into those little lobsters, a specialtly of the restaurant and once you have emptied the bowl they just come along and top it up!...fantastic!! Shirley just loves these, think she can eat a bowl on her own....lol We will have to come back to this one! "My tastes, your good appetite!"
