The museum has a wide collection of various kinds of buttons. The methods of display aren't wonderful but the part of the museum where they display the machinery originally used to make buttons out of shells is unique and well worth a look.

This is the residence of the Wang family, the decedents of Wang Yuan,a military official in the Song Dynasty (960-1279).
The building is a typical architecture in the Ming & Qing Dynasty which include 7 rows of houses & a garden. The Zhongfu Hall is situated in the 3rd row and these words are written by Chen Bangyan,a member of the imperial Academy of Emperor Kang Xi (1662-1722).
The words 'Zhongfu' exhort people to do do as good will be rewarded with good.

The gallery was rather dark when I was there...maybe they were conserving energy (?). Magnificent carvings, i must say. However, the labels were all in Chinese. Maybe they weren't expecting foreign visitors.
There is an entrance fee to this gallery. Ours in included together with the bus fare but I believe they do sell tickets at the door.

An excellent way to view the water village. If you're tired of getting lost in the narrow streets.
Only thing is that they charge per boat, so it can be quite expensive if you're going for a lonely ride.
