The museum has a wide collection of various kinds of buttons. The methods of display aren't wonderful but the part of the museum where they display the machinery originally used to make buttons out of shells is unique and well worth a look.

This is the residence of the Wang family,the decedents of Wang Yuan,a military official in the Song Dynasty (960-1279).The Wang family is also one of the richest family in Xitang olden times and their residence is now one of the must visit when visiting Xitang today.

This is the residence of the Wang family,the decedents of Wang Yuan,a military official in the Song Dynasty (960-1279).
The building is a typical architecture in the Ming & Qing Dynasty which include 7 rows of houses & a garden.The Zhongfu Hall is situated in the 3rd row and these words are written by Chen Bangyan,a member of the imperial Academy of Emperor Kang Xi (1662-1722).
The words 'Zhongfu' exhort people to do do as good will be rewarded with good.

Splendid collection of marvellous carved tree roots. No photos are allowed to be taken and there're more than enough attendants around to enforce this.

Behind the riverfront houses are the narrow alleys, the narrowest one is said only 30 cm 'narrow'.
