before doing this trip, just bear in mind ... the trip is not watching dolphins as happened in ocean park hongkong or other aquarium. it's about sailing from tung chung harbour [lantau island] to chek lap kok and another part of pearl river delta regions to find wild white chinese dolphins a.k.a sousa chinensis.so, the attraction is different...

  • Cheap dim sum in Hong Kong Airport? ...

Right, you're on your way home and you only have a pocket full of Hong Kong coins with which to buy food. You want one last taste of local cuisine but 17 dollars won't buy much outside of the 7-11 convenience store down in the Arrivals Hall. You start considering Burger King french fries or maybe a biscuit at Popeye's Fried Chicken, thinking that...

  • Finger Food

Because it was so very hot and we drank so much water during the day we did not want much food and were absolutely happy with an apple or terriyaki chicken on a stick or pop corn during the day.Price wise I was surprised to find it much cheaper than if you buy things from the same stands at Disneyland Paris.

Disneyland Resort line with Mickey shaped windows 3 more images

This line has only one stop and goes from the station Sunny Bay on the Tung Chung Line to the Disneyland entrance.
It is planned that a special ferry will run from Kowloon or Hong Kong Island to a pier right at Disneyland but it was not opened yet.

Like in any other Disney park you can not escape the lure of the shops especially if you have kids with you.
I was very surprised to find most souvenirs less expensive compared to Disneyland Paris and so my daughter got some goodies which also fit the purpose of cooling her or shielding her from the suns rays.

Chek Lap Kok Warnings and Dangers

  • Cool off as often as possible!

Hong Kong can be a smoldering oven with very high temperatures and close to 100% humidity, you need to drink lots and lots of water to keep you from dehydration.

  • Time is of the Essence

This is a HUGE airport. Give yourself plenty of time to spare before departure. You may need to board a tram to get to some gates. You'll probably need at least 20 minutes to walk from the check-in area to the gate (excluding tram time). Security is TIGHT and SLOW. We got stopped for carrying an aerosol can (shoe cleaner/deodorizer) and the guards...

I bought a Disneyland cap and I needed it badly!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: You definitely need a cap or hat... without that you will fry in no time when you are standing in line for the attractions!

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Make sure you apply lots of sun tan lotion as well during the day or you will suffer bad sun burn....

Favorite thing: During the hottest part of the day between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Emily and I rode the train up to 10 times around and around.... the good thing is you dont have to walk when you are tired, nobody makes you get off, you dont have to buy any food or drink and you are out of the sun while still watching the scenery of the park and the people running around..... an inexpensive way of passing time while enjoying a ride!!!!
