Favorite thing: Go shopping. Be prepared to bargain hard, and shop even harder. For electronics - make sure that you know the exact model that you want, and keep asking around for the best cash price - and know what you can settle for. The best deal will always be better than you will get, but sometimes just hinting that you'll check someone else out will suddenly get you an extra 10%.
Fondest memory: The sheer crowds - classic example is the congregation of Fillipino's in Central on a Sunday morning (it's the day off for the maids and au pairs). The picture shows the atrium of the HSBC building with the world's longest free-standing escalators (carefully placed with Feng Shui in mind).

Favorite thing: Go to Temple street in Yau Ma Te at night for the night market. Many funny gadgets are sold along the street, and I noticed they sell very old pornography...well used I guess hahaha. There are many fortune tellers at a corner of the street, and you pay about HKD$50 to get your fortune told. Not a bad price for an experience.

Favorite thing: Visit Pageone bookstore if you are a book lover. Swindon used to be the biggest bookstore in Hong Kong but this name has been taken over by Pageone. Many locations include Harbour city in Tsim Sha Tsui, Time Square in Causeway Bay, and Festival Walk in Kowloon Tong. All locations can be reached by the MTR.

Favorite thing: shop! Turn one corner, you will find a clutter of signboards clamouring for your attention … inviting you into treasure troves of knick-knacks and bric-a-brac, turn another corner, you will be dazzled by the beautifully window displays of the shopping centres. H.K. is just about the best place in the world for cheap bargains and luxurious goods alike … with plenty in between as well. However, the crowning glory of the H.K. shopping bonanza, is Hong Kong Summer Sale … held in July & August. I knew that I arrived in H.K. way to early for the Summer super sale, but I managed to catch many small sales … incredible buys … in April.
