by SLLiew One of my favorite airports although it was not so fun during the past SARS outbreak of having to wear surgical face mask. Airport has two main terminals connected by a "skytrain". Almost miss a flight because of fairly long queue at immigration and the distance need to travel in the transit area. So give yourself plenty of time to check-in before boarding. Really like the variety of great Hong Kong dim sum and delicacies available in the transit restaurants. The signs are bilingual, in Chinese and English.

Inside HK International Airport by coolpanda87 The airport is very large, but it designed in such a way that makes it really hard for you to get lost. Unlike JFK or Chicago's O'Hare airport, there are no traffic jams and confusing roadways! It is just one terminal with a easy to navigate road system. From Hong Kong International Airport, you could either take the Airport Express (fastest way), bus, subway via bus or taxi (most expensive). If you are on a budget and have very little luggage, I would best advise you to take the bus or subway via bus. The estimated cost for transportation from HK International Airport to Central, Hong Kong Island: a) taxi - $ ~ 500 or more (depending on traffic) b) Airport Express- Adult $ 100, Children/Senior - $50 c)Bus to Central - Citybus N11($31), Citybus A11 ($ 40) d)Bus to Tung Chung - Citybus S1 - $3.5 Subway to Hong Kong Station - Adult $ 20.1 children & seniors - $10.1 I would advise against Car Rental since it is very expensive, parking is really limited in Hong Kong, streets are really hard to drive, & the traffic is practically crazy. However if you make the irrational decision to rent a car ( not worth it!), the cost of parking @ HKIA is: 0 - 1/2 hr - Free 1/2 - 1 hr - $16 Each Additional Hour - $16 Daily Parking (24 hours) - $112 Leave a Comment

Hong Kong by herzog63 I remember my fight into Hong Kong and landing at Kai Tak International Airport. I had a window seat and it sure seemed like we were flying through the city with the tall buildings seemingly touchable as we came in for our landing. I'm not sure if Kai Tek is still used much as there is a new International Airport now on Lantau Island. Kai Tek is an easy bus ride to Kowloon if that is where you want to go. I had originally bought a one way ticket from Anchorage Alaska to Manila US$500. This was a very tough to do..I had to show proof of finances etc.... they sure looked at me strange when I went to the travel agency wanting to buy a one-way ticket to the Philippines....."Are you skipping out of the country"? hahaha....Well then from Manila I bought another one-way ticket to Hong Kong US$130...I did this whole 7 month trip without really planning anything so that's why these one-way tickets were purchased. (So for you people that like making plans you can save youself some money) While in Hong Kong I went to a student travel agency that I had heard about through another traveler. I priced tickets going to all kinds of places....I ended up purchasing a Hong Kong - Taipei - Seoul - Anchorage - New York - Anchorage - Seoul - Taipei - Hong Kong ticket for US$774. I was so happy as I could fly back to Alaska and spend the summer there then in the fall fly to Maine and visit my family without having to purchase another ticket. Well, that fell to pieces as it was announced after I got on the plane that the plane would not be stopping in Anchorage as planned it was flying all the way to New York!!! It sure was strange for me to hear that!! I was the only one that wanted to get off the plane in Anchorage!! haha To this day I don't know how that happened!! Even the Departure board stated that the flight went to Anchorage!! To be continued............. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

HKAirport by stonefree Post Kai Tak Airport, this is well established with a clean, modern, rational institution in a site that is wide open but a bit too far from the centre of the town. You don't have to be worry about anything, what that you would have to in the era of Kai Tak, but about money. There are shops everywhere in here. Leave a Comment

Airport Gates at HK International Airport by coolpanda87 Here is a picture of the airport gates at Hong Kong International Airport. Hong Kong's home airline is Cathay Pacific, one of the most respected & high quality companies in the industry. I always ride Cathy Pacific when I travel to Hong Kong, for no other airline can beat its customer service & comfort. Another airline I would recommend is Singapore Airlines, for their service is excellent & their planes are very new! With over 80 gates, it does take a long time to reach some of them, especially the ones with high numbers. Therefore, it is best to take the Automated People Mover ( a driverless underground train) to reach your desired gate. Leave a Comment

The Hong Kong Airport train... by CandS We took a plane across to Hong Kong...for us I think it's the best way... But if you're coming from Macau then I would suggest taking the Jet Cats...a great way to travel... The Hong Kong Airport is very modern and user friendly... Once you get to the airport you'll need to catch the train into the arrivals section... There is also a train from the airport into the city called Airport Express. It is the fastest link between the airport and the city. Leave a Comment Theme: AirplanePhone: 2881 8888 (Airport Express)

Hong Kong Airport is the best I have ever been! It is even a pleasure to sit and relax on very comfortable chairs. Clouds in Hong Kong are unique and you can watch them from these seats! There are some computers in shops or just in halls and you can use Internet for free there.
