By air into Chek Lap Kok Airport, then take the Airport Express train into Kowloon or Hong Kong stations, then taxi from there.
Taxi - it's very reasonable by developed world standards at HK$15 for the first 2 km, then HK$7 per km. It's US$1=HK$7.8.

Cathay Pacific is a good airline, not as good as Virgin Atlantic, but good. Each seat has its own T.V. Monitor with lots of movie channels and games to pass the 14 hours from L.A. This is a picture of the Hong Kong Airport.

Hong Kong International Airport
Visitors to Hong Kong are served by one of the world's largest and most modern airports. Situated at Chek Lap Kok on Lantau Island, Hong Kong International Airport truly makes Hong Kong the gateway to Asia.
Operated by the MTR Corporation, the high-speed Airport Express (AEL) rail service takes passengers to Hong Kong Station in Central, via Tsing Yi and Kowloon, in only 23 minutes. The one-way adult fare from the airport to Hong Kong Island is HK$90. Trains run every 10 minutes from 5:50am-1:00am daily and free shuttle-bus services to major hotels are available for AEL users.
There are more than 30 franchised bus routes from the airport, including nine Airbus services that have fewer stops than conventional buses. Airbus fares range between HK$14 and HK$45. Ferry links between Chek Lap Kok Pier and Tuen Mun Pier in the New Territories run from 6:00am-11:00pm daily. Taxis to almost anywhere in Hong Kong are readily available from the taxi pick-up area. A typical journey between the airport and Central costs about HK$330; and Tsim Sha Tsui the fare is HK$270

Location: Located at Chek Lap Kok, 34km (21m) northwest of Hong Kong Island. Airport Information Authority counters can be found on levels 5, 6 and 7. The Hong Kong Tourist Association Counters are located in the Arrivals hall, level 5 and in the transit area, and are staffed 0700-2300, with brochures and an Internet information link available 24 hours a day.
From Hong Kong Island follow road signs to Western Harbour Tunnel. Once out of the tunnel, drive along the West Kowloon Expressway; follow Airport road signs and cross the Tsing Ma Bridge to the airport island. Continue along North Lantau Highway to reach the airport. The airport is served by five limousine companies; taxis and public buses are readily available from the Ground Transportation Centre adjacent to the passenger Terminal. The Airport Express Line operates trains which leave the airport every ten minutes; it is a 23 minute journey from the airport to Hong Kong station, also stopping at Kowloon (tel: 28 81 88 88); free shuttle buses from the rail stations serve various hotels. Citybus's frequent, wheelchair-accessible luxury Cityflyer coaches serve major destinations in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the region day and night (tel: 28 73 08 18). High speed ferries (tel: 29 87 73 51) run between the airport and Tuen Mun, with a shuttle bus from the Terminal to the Chek Lap Kok Ferry Pier. MTR Travel Services (tel: 29 93 22 11) and a number of other coach companies offer a variety of travel services for journeys to mainland China or Macau.

I took their national carrier, Cathay Pacific Airlines and, it was such a stressful flight for me! There were screaming kids ALL OVER the plane (economy class) and they were jumping around like mini-Tarzans and generally making lots of noise! The poor flight attendants couldn't even control these boisterous kids!!!!!!!!! Here's a note to all parents: PLEASE teach your children some manners! There are other passengers on board the plane who need to rest. And we, like you - paid good money to board this plane too!
Taking taxis in Hong Kong can also be a VERY stressful experience. I, being the good British citizen, was trying to hail a taxi one day after a serious bout of shopping at Pacific Place and was literally shoved and outnumbered by 3 Hong Kong girls who came out of no where and STOLE my taxi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that bloody taxi driver didn't even bother to tell these 3 RUDE Hong Kong girls off!!!!!!!! This is it. The next time when I decide to hail a taxi in Hong Kong, I'm carrying a golf club with me - purely for knocking on these rude heads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You bet I'm mad!!!
