Great little find amongst the chaos of Tsim Sha Tsui. This place is a really old style Italian that's a bit like stepping back in time. It's slightly dusty and faded authenticity is a nice change from the countless theme restaurants that proliferate elsewhere in Kowloon or the high end high priced hotel restaurants that charge a fortune for a slice of history and the food here is really good and reasonably priced. Going to the bathroom is a total trip and reminded me of that movie Being John Malkovich.
Favorite Dish: The Risotto is very tasty

The food culture in ancient times to health has been mainly because they have a focus on physical health; Recently, South Korean popular ice cream cheese shop Yogulo flow, the very busy landing area to a low-fat, low-sugar ice cream cheese as selling points, has instantly made a hit in the Mongkok area, specifically in the grand century place. This korean yogurt shop is now popular here and I have to taste it since is just beside my hotel!
Favorite Dish: Yogurt with Mango and Strawberry and Kiwi Bits at 35 HKD (4.20 USD), Cheesecake at 25 HKD a slice, Muffins at 15 HKD. there are also a variety of choices to mix with the yogurt such as chocolate, jackfruit, strawberry, blueberry, mango, vanilla, plum, apple, etc. and also you can surf the net for free while eating here as long as there is no line in their pair of desktop computers with broadband connection.

This is one of the typical 24 hours Hong Kong eateries with most of the local food you can find. They are air-conditioned and cheap too. You can get a quick meal and continue on your shopping spree!
Favorite Dish: It has to be the Chee Cheong Fun, directly translated from Cantonese is Pig Intestine Flat Rice Noodle but it only looks like it and taste delicious with different ingredients inside (eg. Char Siew, pork, prawn meats etc).

This busy, late night noodle shop with no ego problems is known for its won ton soup and shredded pork noodle with spicy bean sauce.
Favorite Dish: You will regret not trying the braised noodle with shredded pork with special sauce and Cantonese wantons (HKD23) if you are here. You will definitely love it and want to go back again. That's what I did before coming back to Singapore. I even bought their handmade noodle and got my mum-in-law to cook them back home immediately. They taste so... good! Yummy!

This is another air-conditioned porridge shop where you can try the Hong Kong "Zha Liong", rolled flat rice noodle wrap with fried flour fritters. They are special to me where I have not seen it in Singapore before. The shop may be small but you can see and taste what the locals eat!
Favorite Dish: Of course the Hong Kong "Zha Liong"! They are soft and crispy if eaten hot.

Sweet Dynasty is very well known for their desserts and Siuching knew just what to order. Pictured here, the delectable dessert, tofu with fresh slices of kiwi, mango, and strawberries served in a bowl which seemed to be overflowing with dry ice sublimation vapors... It looks lovely and it tasted divine...

A friend of mine told me that there were plenty of Indonesians in Hong Kong, and I decided that, rather than going for Thai food (a pretty common affair in North America), I would aim for Indonesian. I found this restaurant when going to the Hong Kong Museum of History, and decided that I would try it once I had finished. Indonesia Restaurant is run by ethnic Chinese from Indonesia, so I'm not sure if that affected the cuisine served, or if they stuck to traditional Indonesian food (for Muslim Indonesian fare, there are many restaurants in the Causeway Bay area). The service was excellent, and the staff was very helpful. Their command of English was quite good, although everything on the menu is pretty self-explanatory. The restaurant was clean and well organized, with a tasteful, calming décor and soft music. The food is not expensive, but the presence of a fixed-price menu helps customers to decide what goes best with what, as this is not always apparent.
Favorite Dish: I had a lamb curry, peanut satay and spicy chicken soup, which had lots of lemon grass. I also got milk tea - I don't know if this is traditional in Indonesia, but it is ubiquitous in Hong Kong and delicious. Overall, the food was spectacular and the meat was lean, not what I expected of any restaurant in Hong Kong.
