Whenever I visit Hong Kong, I usually make an effort to go and visit D26. Its one of my favourite places to go for a drink when in Lan Kwai Fong.
Their happy hour is from 3pm until 9pm, and that includes cocktails, and their cocktails are very very tasty!
The staff are very friendly and as we were regular visitors, we were greeted with a smile every time we walked in there.
Dress Code: They dont have a dress code. You will encounter people wearing suits going for a after work drink, but dont let that put you off. We went in wearing jeans and t-shirts and it was acceptable.

If you want to have a fab time, head to Lan Kwai Fong, its on Hong Kong Island, and a short walk from the closest MTR Station (Central). Its a area packed with nice bars and restaurants. They all have Happy Hour up until about 8pm at night, and some have it till later, guaranteed a fabulous time!!
Dress Code: Loads of businessmen go there for a quick drink after work so they are dressed in their work attire, but as we were on holiday there, we went wearing jeans and T-Shirts, and it was not a problem at all.

This area is where young 20-30's go to unwind after work. There are bars and nightclubs one on top of another and there are great midnight snacks as well. There are some great deals on week nights (free drinks, free admission) if you find the right spot and it's a crowded area on the weekends.
Dress Code: You can go however you want!

Tucked away down a tiny side street, gecko is a great place for private parties (birthday party) and cozzy after-dinner watering hole.
Good DJ on Sat night. You can dance the night out with hip crowd. Drinks little cheaper than other dancing places. And... they serve the famous Absinte!!!
Live jazz on Tue and Wd nights... however, I found the place is too small for live jazz, and a bit too noisy for that.

Al's Diner in Lan Kwai Fong, is a nice place to wind down after a long day of sight seeing, they have a happy hour, and their cocktails are very very nice, and if you have had your fair bit of Oriental cuisine, you can always have a burger and fries there, their food is very tasty!

If your looking for somewhere to have a good time, drink, meet new people and listen to live music, then I suggest you go to Lan Kwai Fong. It's the part of HK where foreigners would love....
We did a pub crawl, tasted every brand of beer there was to offer, & along with it there were live bands where you can dance the night away.
The beer prices weren't as cheap as Sydney, but the atmosphere was uncomparable
Dress Code: whatever...

Lan Kwai Fong (or LKF) is the top nightlife area in Hong Kong. This small spot has dozens if not hundred of bars, dance clubs, and restaurants of all types from German Biergartens (such as the Bitburger Bar) to Middle Eastern bars (like Beirut).
During our visit, the place was shoulder-to-shoulder with tourists and locals, out to have a good time. Our favorite spot was Mad Dogs, an Irish Pub that turns into a dance club later in the evening.
LKF is located in Central.

Lang Kwai Fong on HK Island is a big night spot area especially with businessman and Expat. There are many bars, cafes, delis, bistros and restaurants to choose from. Try Mad Dogs Century Square, 1 D'Aguilar St, or Dublin Jack, Cochrane St, Central. The California Tower building has many restaurants, cafes and clubs (D'Aguilar St, Lang Kwai Fong).
In the summer months, drinkers spill out into the narrow lanes to enjoy the balmy evenings in Lang Kwai Fong. Quieter during the week.

Lan Kwai Fong is probably the best nightlife area of Hong Kong. You will find that it is about half british and australian expatriates which is cool as long as your not looking for too much culture. There is a few good pubs in the area so I recommend just going down there and walking around and going into some places. You will find drink prices are very expensive by north american standards so you might want to head down around happy hour.
cheers
Dress Code: Most people in central and lan kwai fong dress really well. A nice shirt and pants, No suit and tie required
