You want to have breathtaking moments? Visit the LANDMARK office which is the most central of all shopping centres. It is, too, the most successful spot as commercial office, completed in 1983. And you can have a good eating in a pleasant, open space. Ofcourse this most impressive LANDMARK building is known as the place to be for numerous, prestigious and trendy international brands, along the Des Voeux Road Central.

When visiting find the LOUIS VUITON boutique shop, where the windows got famous all around, I heard. And see, there still are the addresses of the leading hotels of the world on signs. Here kings and queens, moviestars, presidents, top-models and other VIP's has stayed, and visited the LOUIS VUITON boutique shop ...

Man Wa Lane aka "Chop Alley"

Getting my Chop
2 more images

Sine around 1920, Man Wa Lane has been known as "Chop Alley" for the chops that they sell. Chops are traditional carved seals.
You can get your name carved into a seal for a few bucks. I paid 120 HKD (about $15 US) for a marble seal with my name in traditional Chinese, a small jar of seal wax and a padded box. The carving can take up to an hour but mine only took 15-20 min. You can get a seal in marble, plastic, ivory, jade, wood, soapstone,etc...
You can also order custom business cards as well.
It's a nice souvenir to bring home with you for only a few dollars.

"Welcome to Luo Hao Commerce City"

This isn't a shopping mall. It's so huge, it's a commerce city. This "mall" is several floors high, and there are signs to sell items everywhere. Salespeople will be standing in the hallways, and you can't walk 10 seconds without being approached.

In a good mood, I surprised a few solicitors with my response. Instead of saying "no thank you" or even ignoring them, I'd say, "You are beautiful" or "I already have two". They didn't know how to respond, and it was great! There was one woman who did respond "You are beautiful, too" and that can make your day!

This mall is so big that there were busses that shipped people here, just like you see at casinos. I'm not saying there were a couple busses. There were about 100 busses in their own section of the parking garage under the mall. It was amazing how big this place is.

This mall is so big, they call is a "commerce city".

Langham Place

A fancy architecture worthy of having a look! that's why I put this shopping mall here. And the distinctive is that on level 4 of the building there's a grand atrium. If you look up you'll find the fantastic Digital Sky on top. And from this floor upward have a try of the Xpresscalators-the two Hongkong's longest indoor escalators. They will take you from level 4 directly to level 8 then from there further up to the Sky Garden on level 12.

The Place is near MTR Mongkok station.

Chung King Shopping Arcade

One of the survivors from the burial of the ruins in Kowloon, Chung King Mansion is still alive. The ground floor of the slam looking building is a shopping arcade. I believe there is no traveller who is willing to step inside it. It looks too dubious. Actually, I found there is not much to buy.

I went there because someone told me that the rate is good for you to change your cash into HKDollars. Indeed, they were good.

Sham Shui Po is easily accessed by the MTR. This used to be a popular place for pirate software however there are lots of streets with wet markets and local produce as well as lots of local clothing shops. You get a good idea of local life around some of the back streets.

Directions: Take the MTR from Kowloon on the Tsuen Wan line. Sham Shui Po is 5 stops from Tsim Sha Tsui.

The famous Golden Computer Center

If you love looking at, thinking about, talking about, and buying anything related to computers, then you MUST go to the Golden Computer Arcade. It is legendary.

There are a few tourists around but in general, this is more of a locals place.

Prices aren't any better than the US but you may be able to find something interesting that you couldn't get at home. Just be sure it's going to be compatible!

There is a jewelry store called 3D-Gold. Go there and buy two hundred dollars (USD) worth of jewelry. You will then be permitted to use the three million dollar, solid gold toilet in a bathroom built out of gold and over 6000 real gems. That would be cool! And you can do it!
