by Yubert Came here as part of a business trip so have no idea on the costs. But this is one of those landmark places one should visit just to say they've been there.
Fish head soup - It freked out most of the North Americans in my group, to see a whole fish including the head. Leave a Comment Theme: Chinese/Dim SumAddress: AberdeenDirections: Aberdeen

Jumbo Floating Restaurant, Aberdeen by Trillian2005 The Jumbo Floating Restaurant is still floating in the Floating City of Aberdeen which is one of my favorite places in Hong Kong as it has a special charm of times past. Marjorie, my friend from Hong Kong, and her family took me to Jumbo for my Jumbo birthday dinner. The dining experience in a Chinese restaurant is much more fun when you're accompanied by a large crowd of people. Among the crowd was Marjorie's grandma who only spoke Cantonese and was most surprised how Marjorie and I could communicate (Marjorie being from Hong Kong and I from Germany). Well, we couldn't keep it a secret for too long - English is the answer! :-)
Dim Sum and 15 sets of genuinie Jumbo chopsticks that Marjorie's uncle "collected" for me at the end of the dinner as a special birthday gift! ;-) Leave a Comment

by iwys Jumbo Floating Restaurant is as much a tourist attraction as it is a restaurant. Since it opened in 1976 it has received more than 30 million visitors including Queen Elizabeth, Tom Cruise and Gong Li. It was opened by Dr Stanley Ho at an initial cost of HK$30 million, but has recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation. It is the biggest floating restaurant in the world and can seat up to 2,300 diners. Its main Dragon Court restaurant is on the first deck. It serves Cantonese cuisine. Personally, I found the food here overpriced and, by Hong Kong standards, mediocre. I would say come and have a look at the place because it is one of Hong Kong's most famous tourist attractions, but don't expect it to be a fine dining experience. A Deluxe Set Menu for 2 in the Dragon Court restaurant costs HK1,680. There is a 10% service charge. The boat that takes you to the restaurant by Venus_Swan The best part about the Jumbo Floating Restaurant is getting there, old wooden boats pick you up and take you for a short ride. We had dinner with the owner Lawrence Ho, who was such an amazing host, he made sure we tried the best they have. The service amazing. The decor was perfect. Feng Shui in full swing!!!!!
Try the shark fin soup. It was a dish I won't be having anytime soon, but, there are many health benefits. Taste like your eating......slime soup. Leave a Comment Theme: Chinese/Dim SumPrice: US$21-30 » Currency ConverterAddress: AberdeenDirections: Aberdeen

Jumbo restaurant from Shum Wan Pier by PeterVancouver Although once advertised as the largest floating restaurant in the world, it is now no longer floating, and is supported on a huge base of concrete. It was suggested by our associate from Hong Kong that we may like to visit the Jumbo restaurant but perhaps not eat there as there are many restuarants who offer better food, keener prices and not so touristy. You can take their free ferry from Shum Wan Pier and spend a good hour looking around the restuarants and shops on the Jumbo Leave a Comment Theme: Chinese/Dim SumPrice: US$31-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: AberdeenPhone: (852) 2553-9111Directions: Wong Chuk Hang, Aberdeen Bus no. 72, 42, 38, 38A in front of the Mitsukoshi Department Store in Causeway Bay to Aberdeen Shuttle Ferry Pier or 72A to Shum Wan Shuttle Ferry Pier.Website: http://www.jumbo.com.hk/eng/main.php

Jumbo floating restaurant by sswagner It would not surprise me if this makes it into the tourist trap section as well due to the large number of tourists. Jumbo is a large floating restaurant in a harbor on Hong Hong Island. You take a shuttle boat from the pier in order to access this place. I think this gives it some of its charm. As for the food, there is a good variety to choose from at different price ranges. You can go with the familiar choices such as rice, chicken, or beef, or you can try something more local such as shark's fin soup. Perhaps the Jumbo is somewhat touristy, however it was an interesting experience. I got a chance to meet some of my fellow travellers there. Pekin Duck by Boromir Great looking restaurant. It's actually a big floating boat.
Average food, average service, above average prices, but give it a try just to see the boat. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$41 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: AberdeenDirections: Aberdeen

Jumbo Restaurant by coolpanda87 There is not really anything special about this restaurant, for it just serves seafood & dim sum. The food is not particularly outstanding, & the cost was not really reasonable. However, it might be a little more fun to get there, for you have to take a small boat from a pier to reach the restaurant. But if you are looking to eat something special offshore, I advised you join a cruise to the South Pacific, Caribbean or Europe instead. Somehow, the place looks a little old & dirty, but it has been here for over 20 years. Leave a Comment
