Portal Restaurant at Langham Place Hotel: Easy dining

by lindyz

This was our last meal in Hong Kong. We had gone across to Pepper Lunch but it was too busy so just decided to take the easy option and dine at our Hotel one last time. It was not the cheapest option at the time, but definitely the easiest! Frank had a burger and coke and I had a chicken caesar salad and a cocktail and the bill came to $529HK which is about $63AUD. But, the portion sizes were HUGE so I do think was relatively good value for money.

Lee Kam Kee: Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine

by lindyz

While we were at Temple Street Night Markets at Yau Ma Tei we went for a walk along Nathan Road looking for somewhere to eat dinner and decided on this Vietnamese Restaurant. I can remember exactly what we ate, but it was good and good value also.

Pepper Lunch: Amazing unique dining experience!

by lindyz

We saw this place a few times at the Langham Place food court before we were actually game enough to try it!!! But I wish we had gone there sooner, as it was just amazing! It is indeed a unique concept .... and one that should take on world wide!!!Now you are really wondering arent you???Basically, it is a meal with meal, veggies and usually rice. It comes on a sizzling hotplate and it basically cooks in front of you, once you have taken your plate! I know that sounds odd, but thats how it happens, your meal is still cooking when you get it. The food was delicious and amazing value for money as well. Also, this place gets very very busy on the weekends and during normal meal hours, so you are best to go there during the week, or not right on usual dining times! We went to go back there a few times, but the lineup was way too long. We ate a beef pepper Rice with coke and a chicken and...

New York Fries: Great value Fries

by lindyz

There were lots of options in the food court at the Langham Place Mall in Mongkok and this one looked like it was worth a visit!! Basically, just lots of different combinations of fries with other things on top, all looking rather delicious. We had a veggie set, I cant really remember what it had on it, but it was good, and only cost $49HK which is about $6AUD so great value as well. We shared one of these as a light dinner, but you would need one each for a meal.

Haagen Dazs: Sweet Treats

by lindyz

We went a few times for cheap dessert to Haagen Dazs at the Langham Place Mall and opposite Hop Inn in Hankow Road. Just be aware that if you actually sit down at any of their shops, you WILL be charged an extra 10% on top of your bill, as a service charge, but if you take away your icecream, you will not.

Seafront Restaurant: Seaside dining

by lindyz

On our day trip to Stanley, we were told that the restaurants along the ocean front were good dining value plus atmosphere. As you stroll along the promenade, there are indeed touters out the front of all of them, trying to entice you into their restaurant. We just kept going, checking out the deals and the prices all along and then went back to the one we thought looked the best, and they did not disappoint us. Frank had a Huge burger which came with a beer and I had their "famous" Fish and chips and I also had a cocktail, and the total cost was $309HK which is about $38AUD, which I thought was good value, especially for the location. Staff were very friendly too, and for me, that is very important when dining out.

Delicious Kitchen: Good value local cuisine

by lindyz

There were so many dining options down the little dead-end bit of street on Ashley Road, this night we chose to eat local Chinese food at Delicious Kitchen and we were not disappointed. Staff were friendly, restaurant was clean, and food was quick and delicious indeed!!! I would definitely recommend this place. We ate fried wontons for entree and then shared beef with capsicum and friend rice, and with 2 drinks the total bill came to only $193HK which is about $24AUD, so I thought that was pretty good value

Wildfire Pizza: Trendy spot

by lindyz

This was our second port of call with John and Marie, just walking distance really from McLovins Pub. Here we had our JUMBO Mojitos and my they were BIG!!! I think we consumed many of these, the pics are proof of just how large they were, and they were very yummy too!We ate fried chicken wings, chicken debab and a BBQ meatlovers pizza, along with 6 jumbo mojitos and the bill came to $1356HK which is about $169AUD .... I think thats rather expensive, well to me it is, it didnt seem to bother John, maybe cos he didnt pay this bill haha!!!But the atmosphere was lovely, the staff knew John and so therefore gave him a bit of a discount on the bill. This place was at Knutsford Terrace, which is apparently a rather trendy spot to dine.

McLovin's Pub: Western pub atmosphere

by lindyz

My friends John and Marie (who at the time were living in Hong Kong) took us here for some drinks and snacks. I cant really remember what we had, it was nice, but rather expensive. I do remember that the bill for 4 drinks and a couple of entree plates was about $1100!!!! John paid this bill and I paid the next one .... he was wise cos the bill from the next place was $1356HK!!!!!

Bubba Gump Shrimp: Amazing food and atmosphere

by lindyz

I am a HUGE fan of Forrest Gump so when we first came across the Bubba Gump Restaurant up at the Peak, I said to Frank that we just had to go back there and eat dinner one night .... and we did!!!There was at first a HUGE wait for a table of about an hour (as we did not book, so if you want to make sure you get a table, then please book it) but then the lady came back and said they had a table for 2 so we took it! The memorabilia in this place is just awesome .... I loved it to bits, hence my opening pic for my Hong Kong page. There is also a souvenir shop attached to the Restaurant, which I of course obliged them with. Even if you are not a fan of Forrest Gump or shrimp (prawns) in general, there are plenty menu options that are not seafood and the view from up here at night ............ WOWWWWWWW!!!!!!! We were also lucky enough to get a table with a view of the harbour and the lights,...
