After the peak, I have returned to the central. While I was looking to the map where to go I have seen those small double decker trams.. I felt so excited and get on them.. I used to see them on movies but now I was on the top of them.. The tram took me to Causeway bay. that was the place where I decided to get off, after seeing the busy streets..

Causeway bay made me feel like I am with the Local Hong Kongers.. It is not a touristic place and it is busy with shops, but I like there a lot.. So many people strolling along the streets, many shopping malls, 7/11 shops in every corner and life...

Cause way bay has become my favourite stop at Hong kong and I spent a long day just watching the people and streets..

Folks who wants to exercise their shopping muscles need go no further than Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island. Here, you will find all the big brands such as Gucci, Prada alongside your Hong Kong made good brands such as Giordano, Bossini, G2000, U2, Baleno. Shop shop till you drop.

You will also find plenty of eateries here as well to get the strength for more shopping!

Causeway Bay, Sampans

This is the place where all the little fishing boats, called sampans, take refuge when there is a typhoon. It is called Causeway Bay because there is a small strip of land (or rocks, i can't remember) which separates the bay from the sea.

Many small shops are dotted along the streets of Causeway Bay. Big departmental stores like Times square, Sogo etc can be found here too.

Street markets like Jardine's Crescent is also located in Causeway Bay. It is indeed a shoppers' paradise. (great food easily available too!)

Causeway Bay area is in Central District. The district's major claim to fame is its department stores surrounding the junction of Paterson Street, Great George Street and Yee Wo Street. Along the side streets, small shops sell fashionable, inexpensive clothing.

Jardines's Bizarre or Crescent is a clothing market in a alley in Causeway Bay, although there is also handbags, hair accessories, cheap make up and jewellery. Payment in the market is mainly cash. At the end of the market is a wet market for fresh produce and also a flower market.

Noon Day Gun

You will find the Noon Day Gun In Causeway Bay, down on the shore by the Typhoon Shelter. If you blink, you would miss it but as far as I know the tradition still continues at 12 o'clock every day, with the firing of the Noon Day Gun. It all began in 1860. I you know Noel Cowards 1924 song, “Mad Dogs and English Men”.. then you will have heard of the Noon Day Gun. Originally it was a gong that was struck and the noon day gun fired off to reprimand each inmate. This particular gun was built in 1901.

The Noon Day Gun is fired every day at 12 Noon.

It is located at the Causeway Bay Yacht Club, opposite the Excelsior Hotel on Gloucester Road, there is a tunnel that leads from the the Hotel to the Gun, the doorway is on the right hand side of the hotel.

causeway bay is a great place for diverse shopping and eating. there are a few major department stores here too such as sogo, daimaru, mitsukoshi, and especially times square. food can vary from very cheap to very expensive depending on your taste and budget and most cuisines can be found in and around jaffe and lockhart roads. a few other points of interests are victoria park, the noon day gun, and hong kong central library. all are within close walking distance.

Victoria Park, the city park of Hing Kong lies between Victoria Park Road and Causeway Road. The park has a pool complex, tennis courts, and relatively large green areas. The Mid-Autumn Festival in September, as well as many other cultural events take place in Victoria Park.
