After the peak, I have returned to the central. While I was looking to the map where to go I have seen those small double decker trams.. I felt so excited and get on them.. I used to see them on movies but now I was on the top of them.. The tram took me to Causeway bay. that was the place where I decided to get off, after seeing the busy streets..
Causeway bay made me feel like I am with the Local Hong Kongers.. It is not a touristic place and it is busy with shops, but I like there a lot.. So many people strolling along the streets, many shopping malls, 7/11 shops in every corner and life...
Cause way bay has become my favourite stop at Hong kong and I spent a long day just watching the people and streets..

This is the place where all the little fishing boats, called sampans, take refuge when there is a typhoon. It is called Causeway Bay because there is a small strip of land (or rocks, i can't remember) which separates the bay from the sea.

You will find the Noon Day Gun In Causeway Bay, down on the shore by the Typhoon Shelter. If you blink, you would miss it but as far as I know the tradition still continues at 12 o'clock every day, with the firing of the Noon Day Gun. It all began in 1860. I you know Noel Cowards 1924 song, “Mad Dogs and English Men”.. then you will have heard of the Noon Day Gun. Originally it was a gong that was struck and the noon day gun fired off to reprimand each inmate. This particular gun was built in 1901.

causeway bay is a great place for diverse shopping and eating. there are a few major department stores here too such as sogo, daimaru, mitsukoshi, and especially times square. food can vary from very cheap to very expensive depending on your taste and budget and most cuisines can be found in and around jaffe and lockhart roads. a few other points of interests are victoria park, the noon day gun, and hong kong central library. all are within close walking distance.
